Poppy’s is quickly becoming a go-to dining spot in Anaheim, rooted in California cuisine and led by an excellent chef with a thoughtful point of view. Located inside Hilton Anaheim, the restaurant is the hotel’s new signature dining destination and the centerpiece of its reimagined food and beverage program, part of a broader multimillion-dollar renovation.
Executive Chef Prabeen Prathapan, who is originally from India, brings nearly 20 years of experience from luxury properties including Montage Laguna Beach, Mandarin Oriental Las Vegas, and Balboa Bay Resort. His global background informs a style that is refined yet approachable, with a strong focus on seasonality, balance, and quality ingredients. The menu leans into lighter, seasonal dishes made with locally sourced ingredients, while still offering depth and comfort.
Poppy’s serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner, making it an easy choice any time of day. In the evening, the menu becomes more indulgent, and several dishes stand out as favorites.
The Brie and Prosciutto is a great way to start, served with seasonal preserves, wildflower honey, and crostini. The pan roasted salmon is another highlight, paired with warm farro, edamame, and charred sweet corn, finished with a lemon butter sauce and grilled broccolini. Quinoa can be substituted to make the dish gluten free.
For something classic, the steak frites delivers with an 8 ounce prime flat iron steak, shoestring fries, fresh herb chimichurri, and charred lemon. The chargrilled vegetable skewers are equally satisfying, featuring grilled seasonal vegetables and oyster mushrooms over quinoa with smoked tahini sauce and a fresh herb salad. The dish is both gluten free and vegan, yet hearty and flavorful.
Dessert is not to be missed. The warm poppy seed cake with orange blossom lemon curd and vanilla bean ice cream is a standout and a thoughtful nod to the restaurant’s name.
Poppy’s is also embracing the season with a holiday cocktail menu available through the end of 2025. The festive lineup includes the Holiday 75, Raspberry Espresso Martini, Fa La La Fizz, Honey Pumpkin Whiskey Smash, and Caramel Apple-tini.
