
Horse racing fans can celebrate the Del Mar Race Track summer season kicking off Thursday, July 17 through Wednesday, September 3. More than 45,000 attendees are expected to show up for Thursday’s fashionable Opening Day festivities that includes the 20th anniversary of the most stylish and creative Hat Contest, and an Opening Day Cabana party at the west end of the Grandstand with style, sun, music and action. Purchase a ticket and enjoy the races, DJs, beer gardens and food trucks. Tickets cost $30 per person. Gates open Thursday at 11:30 a.m., first post 2 p.m. Ten races on Opening Day.
Other highlights during the Del Mar Season includes a Summer Concert Series with ten free concerts with track admission such as Jurassic 5 – Friday, July 18; The Cult--Friday, July 25, Weezer- Saturday, Aug. 2; Steel Pulse - Friday, Aug. 8; Counting Crows--Saturday, Aug. 9, Reggae Fest with Ziggy Marley--Sunday, Aug. 31.
Donuts at Del Mar – Saturday, July 19 kicks-off the first of two Donuts at Del Mar days, where fans can enjoy free coffee, orange juice and donuts from 8-10 a.m. Fans can also get a behind-the-scenes look into the world of thoroughbred racing, featuring Q&A sessions with famous jockeys and trainers led by track announcer Trevor Denman.
Jockey Photo Day – Sunday, July 20, have your picture taken, get an autograph and chat with your favorite jockeys. Appearances will be from noon-1 p.m.
Two beer festivals during the summer season. First a local craft beer festival on Saturday, July 26 where attendees will have a chance to sample delicious brews from San Diego’s distinctive craft beer culture. The second beer festival will feature international beers from around the world on Sunday, August 24.
Gourmet Food Truck Festival—Saturday, Aug. 16. Sample the best top 50 food trucks. Free with track admission.

Summer Concert Bash at Lulu Too
Lulu Too in Costa Mesa celebrates summer with a free concert with Jesse Macht performing Wednesday at 6 p.m. Enjoy appetizers and bubbly, plus everything is marked down 25%.
