In addition to providing inspiration for those who love dining, cooking, interior design, fashion and style, did you know that SOCO and The OC Mix in Costa Mesa also feature an impressive line-up of environmentally conscious stores? Read on to learn about what SOCO and The OC Mix are doing to make your home - and your life - a little greener.

Granola Babies hand-selects sustainable baby essentials that any new parent needs, including chemical-free diapers, natural baby toiletries, and organic handmade toys. Owner and mother Giselle Baturay also leads holistic parenting classes on topics like aromatherapy, breastfeeding, and nutrition. More than anything, Granola Babies hopes to create a community of parents supporting each other through the journey of parenting – after all, it takes a village!

Cisco Home is one of the latest design showrooms to join SOCO, offering a selection of mid-century modern furniture that is sustainably handcrafted right in Los Angeles. From chairs to sofas to beds, Cisco has everything your looking for. And, their talented team can also design and build custom pieces that are perfect for your home and will last for years to come.

Furniture designer and retailer Environment is committed to creating timeless, sustainable and stylish interiors, and each of their stunning collections is made from recycled or repurposed materials such as military canvas, 100-year old Brazilian hardwoods, and Levi's denim. In addition, this carbon neutral company only uses award-winning lead-free and non-toxic paints and finishes so that you can enjoy each of their beautiful pieces of furniture with additional peace of mind - and comfort!

In addition to their growing roster of artisan shops, showrooms, and eateries, SOCO offers fun events throughout the year. If you’re interested in learning more about how to live a little greener, come to the grand opening of Granola Babies Ecobaby Boutique on October 25 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. You can also get the whole family involved in eco-friendly habits at the Ripple Kids in Action community service fair at SOCO on October 19 from noon to 3 p.m. Non-profit organizations from around Orange County, including the Surfrider Foundation will be joining forces for a day of fun projects from planting milkweed to repurposing old tee shirts and more!
