From New York to Newport Modern and Minimalist Fashions

Your every day look can go modern and edgy—think Helmut Lang meets Vince--plenty of elevated basics that are stylish and timeless --with the help of New York designer Jean Glover who just opened 8telier, her first California boutique at Corona del Mar Plaza.

8telier is a combination of the number 8 symbolizing self-confidence in numerology and the French word, “atelier,” meaning artist workshop.

The showroom carries Jean Glover’s designs that suggest luxury with a focus on function and comfort—and get this, 99 percent of the collection is machine washable!

8telier clothes are made form innovative technical fabrics from Japan and Europe and can easily function from day to night, workdays to weekends.

8telier’s Spring 2016 collection is modern with an affinity for unconventional designs and silhouettes.

“The designs are minimal, with an edgy feel but always keeping in tune with the female body,” Glover said, who opened her first boutique in Seattle. “The fabrics are luxurious and the garment construction is top designer quality.”

Many tops feature intriguing and flattering drape details.  Outerwear pieces, like 8telier’s coated jacket, are edgy and architectural with decisive bold lines. The spring collection will also offer essential pieces that are a must for layering, such as skirted leggings with side zippers and drape knit tops that wear like a tee, but look sophisticated.

8telier is at 924 Avocado Avenue in Newport Beach.
