Movies & More for Memorial Day Fun at The Triangle

We might not have great weather for a picnic or the beach this Memorial Day, but there is still plenty of fun to be had over the long holiday weekend at The Triangle in Costa Mesa. Grab your family or friends for an afternoon or entire day of bowling, movies, dining and more.

Head to Tavern + Bowl and take advantage of their “Roll with the Family” bowling package for $49. The promotion includes one bowling lane for two hours, one cheese or pepperoni flatbread pizza and two soda pitchers (a $100 value.)

A popular restaurant with a boutique bowling alley, Tavern + Bowl features a gourmet menu of American favorites, 10 state-of-the-art bowling lanes, 26 large screen TVs and more. From the music, videos, hip décor and menu, visitors know this is not their father’s bowling alley. In addition, Tavern + Bowl’s menu features something for everyone, with items ranging from steak and burgers to vegetarian, vegan, gluten free and Paleo options. Tavern + Bowl opens daily at 11 a.m. For reservations or more information, call 949.438.2320.

Holiday weekends always bring new movie releases, and Starlight Cinemas at The Triangle is showing the much-anticipated Alice Through the Looking Glass, as well as popular recent releases Angry Birds, The Jungle Book and Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising.

Not only does Starlight Cinemas offer military discounts for those with an ID, but special for this weekend, you can take an additional 30% off your movie ticket purchase through Dealflicks.

Save on tickets and concessions by entering code MEMORIAL30 at your ticket checkout to redeem the discount. For a complete listing of movies and show times, call 949.650.4300.

What is a holiday weekend without a little pampering and relaxation? Nails by Priscilla offers manicures, pedicures, facials, waxing and lash extensions. To book an appointment or more information, call 949.612.7094.

You may be staying in town this weekend, but you can transport yourself to a Mexican coastal resort by sipping margaritas and enjoying some of the best Mexican food in Orange County at La Vida Cantina. Relax under their oversize palapas at their Pre-Memorial Day Party on Sunday, with brunch from 9 am to 2 pm, bottomless Mimosas and Bloody Mary’s, as well as live music by DJ Crave. There will also be Happy Hour pricing from 4 pm until closing, and a made-to-order taco bar from 6 pm to close, with $2 street tacos. On Monday, La Vida Cantina will open at 12 noon with Happy Hour honored all day. For reservations or more information, call 949.612.2349.

Yard House is another family favorite, offering something for everyone on their menu. While enjoying lunch or dinner, pick up some Yard House gift cards for graduation gifts, teacher appreciation, and Father’s Day. Gift givers will receive a $10 bonus card for every $50 purchased in Yard House gift cards now through June 30.  The special bonus gift cards are valid from July 1 through September 30, 2016 and can be used at any Yard House location. Bonus cards are valid for food and non-alcoholic beverages only and do not include alcohol, gratuity or tax.

Saddle Ranch Chop House is known for its fun western theme and what could be more fun that a meal with family or friends, followed by their famous bull ride, three-foot-high cotton candy tower, or roasting your own s’mores at their outdoor pit? For reservations or more information, call 949.287.4652.

Considered by many to be one of the best sushi restaurants in the area, H20 Sushi & Izakaya is another great choice for spending time with family and friends this weekend. And don’t forget to stop at Creamistry, for an affogato pick-me-up or another sweet custom nitrogen concoction.
