Sweetgreen Brings Fresh, Delicious Food to Fashion Island

Adding to its Orange County locations, Sweetgreen is set to open its newest restaurant at Fashion Island in Newport Beach. Starting Tuesday, August 6, guests can enjoy thoughtfully sourced, freshly prepared meals while celebrating opening day with complimentary activities featuring local partners. For every meal sold at the grand opening, Sweetgreen will donate a meal to Food Finders, supporting people in Orange County experiencing food insecurity.

This new location in Newport Beach follows Sweetgreen’s recent introduction of 100 percent grass-fed and pasture-raised Caramelized Garlic Steak to its menu. The new protein offers tender bites of steak, seasoned and finished with a gentle toss of extra virgin olive oil and a blend of herbs. Guests can enjoy the steak in three chef-created dishes or as an addition to their favorite salad, bowl, or protein plate.

To celebrate the new Orange County location, Sweetgreen Fashion Island will host a community event on opening day with local partners and small businesses. From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on August 6, guests are invited to a Farmer’s Market featuring suppliers from Sweetgreen’s extensive network of trusted farm partners throughout Southern California. The first 200 customers at the Farmer’s Market will receive a complimentary bio-knit sustainable mesh Sweetgreen tote from Junes, which they can fill with locally baked Rosemary Focaccia Bread from Santa Ana-based BREAD Artisan Bakery, Artisan Farmstead Goat Cheese from Drake’s Family Farms, and avocados from GreenFruit Avocados. These opening day giveaways are available while supplies last.

Opening day attendees will also be treated to floral bouquets by Newport Beach’s own French Buckets (while supplies last), live acoustic sets from local O.C. musician Brandon Wildish, and meals from Sweetgreen's menu of salads, warm bowls, and new protein-packed plates.

Demonstrating a deep commitment to the communities it serves, Sweetgreen is also supporting local events in Newport Beach, including the nationally recognized Newport Beach Film Festival and the Pacific Wine & Food Festival.

Sweetgreen Newport Beach will be the second location in Orange County to feature the restaurant brand’s Infinite Kitchen technology, first introduced on the West Coast in Huntington Beach in late 2023. This automation technology streamlines the meal assembly process while Sweetgreen Team Members remain central to the operation. From fresh prep in the open kitchen and connections made at the ordering counter to the finishing touches on each customer’s plate or bowl, high-quality food and exceptional hospitality remain at the core of Sweetgreen's operation.

Located in Fashion Island at 3853 Newport Center Drive in Newport Beach, the new restaurant will be open daily from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. seating 24 diners indoors and 16 diners on the patio. For pick-up or delivery options, guests may visit order.sweetgreen.com, or download the Sweetgreen app.
