Beyond Measure Film Debut in OC

04.14.16

Concerned about your overscheduled, exhausted, stressed out student? Come see an inspiring film showing that change has started. On Tuesday, April 19th, a revolutionary new documentary called "Beyond Measure: What Counts Can't be Counted" will debut at two Orange County locations: Regency South Coast Village Theater in Costa Mesa at 9:30 a.m., and Sea Country Community Center in Laguna Niguel, at 7 p.m.

This important film is a follow up to Director Vicki Abeles' eye-opening "Race to Nowhere" documentary and highlights innovative schools on the cutting-edge of education reform. They demonstrate that it is possible to transcend outmoded, test-driven education policies and create more equitable, empowering, student-centered schools.

Director Vicki Abeles will be in attendance at both screenings and will be signing her companion book also called Beyond Measure: Rescuing an overscheduled, overtested, underestimated generation. Following the screenings, there is an opportunity for a meet and greet with Vicki on Wednesday, April 20th at 10 a.m. in Laguna Niguel, which helps her nonprofit foundation further this important work.

Tickets can be purchased at beyondmeasurefilm.com/orange-county/ or beyondmeasurefilmcom. Tickets are free for teachers and school administrators.

Regency South Coast Village Theater is at 1561 W Sunflower Avenue in Costa Mesa.

Sea Country Community Center is at 24602 Aliso Creek Road in Laguna Niguel.
