Celebrate with La Vida Cantina

La Vida Cantina at The Triangle is celebrating its second anniversary today, Thursday, July 28, with live music and drink specials. Jahgun will perform at 7 p.m. and DJ Crave will entertain guests beginning at 9 p.m. The drink specials, which will be offered throughout the weekend, include $5 Three Olives Vodka Monster Bombs (orange, grape and cherry), $6 Three Olives Cocktails, $6 Blood Orange Suerte Tequila Margaritas, $6 1800 Watermelon Tequila Margaritas, and more.
La Vida Cantina is an authentic yet modern Mexican restaurant and bar featuring a spacious and lively patio. You’ll feel as if they’ve been transported to a coastal Mexican resort with the restaurant’s large pentagon-shaped bar, ample lounge seating to relax and mingle, and five fire pits, all under two large palapas. The interior bar and dining room feature beautiful dark wood, warm lighting and contemporary Mexican murals.
La Vida is on the entertainment level of The Triangle at 1870 Harbor Blvd., where the 55 Fwy. meets Newport Blvd. in Costa Mesa. 949.612.2349.

60 UPF Sun Protection Slipins Surfskins

We just discovered a local company, Newport Beach based SlipIns SurfSkins, a colorful line high quality water wear and active wear for women. The line is made in Huntington Beach and sold online. It’s perfect for those concerned about harmful effects of the sun—the fabrics boast a 60+upf sun protection.
Founder, Robin Chesnie created the line after taking up surfing three years ago, she was looking for a better alternative to wetsuits for women, so she created her own.
“Our first design was SurfSkins, the full body suit with a thumb hole and foot stirrup-slip in that made getting in and out of a wetsuit a breeze,” Chesnie said. “But the sun protective factor made it even more ideal for when you aren’t wearing a wetsuit, for surfing, paddling, snorkeling, diving, anything to do with the water really.”
Soon after Surfskins came out, they designed SurfSkin Minis, the legless version, like a one-piece sexy bathing suit but with long sleeves. There’s also GymSkins, active wear for stylish workout wear.
