our newest Greer’s Girl, Asma Mohammed

06.23.16

Introducing our newest Greer’s Girl, Asma Mohammed, a senior at Cal State Long Beach working on a degree in Rhetoric and Composition and a Certificate of Professional and Technical Writing. She’s a food enthusiast and will be a regular contributor sharing some of her favorite food spots in OC. She just discovered the Loop: Handcrafted Churros in Westminster and we can’t wait to get over there.

"My greatest passion in life is food. I am a self-proclaimed cheeseburger connoisseur and dessert enthusiast. In my spare time I enjoy playing with my cat Banjo, practicing yoga, reading, and listening to music. I enjoy any wine that is red or pink," Asma said.

"I am currently in my senior year of college working towards my Bachelors Degree in Rhetoric and Composition and a Certificate of Professional and Technical Writing at California State Long Beach. I try to attend as many music concerts as financially possible whenever I get the chance; I love live music and performances and often attend plays and musicals when they reach the Segerstrom Center for the Arts."

Fourth Of July Buffet with Big Bay Boom View

06.23.16

Marriott Marquis San Diego Marina's award-winning restaurant Marina Kitchen and its visionary chef Schwartz have created a special picnic-style buffet dinner on the Fourth of July with a variety of classic Americana options with a modern twist.

The July Fourth menu features everything from watermelon and blue cheese salad to Jidori fried chicken to 12-hour beef brisket with white cheddar mac-n-cheese as well as delectable desserts including peach crisp and strawberry shortcake.

The menu is priced at $36 per adult and $12 per child with kid-friendly options such as hamburgers, hotdogs and corn on the cob. For a low-key Fourth, guests can rent a poolside cabana at Marriott Marquis’ tropical free-form pool with live music flowing all day at the hotel’s famed Tequila Bar.

It’s an idyllic location with a great vantage point to view the annual “Big Bay Boom” fireworks and Star Spangled Pops concert produced by the San Diego Symphony.

333 West Harbor Drive in San Diego. 619.234.1500.
