Grand Opening Julianne and George Argyros Plaza and the Center for Dance and Innovation
10.26.17
Segerstrom Center for the Arts celebrates the grand opening of the Michael Maltzan-designed Julianne and George Argyros Plaza and the Center for Dance and Innovation on Saturday, Oct. 28 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
At 7 p.m., you won’t want to miss music by popular California-based bands Orgōne and Monophonics and an incredible, gravity-defying performance by BANDALOOP dancing across the wall of Segerstrom Hall above the new Argyros Stage.
The Argyros Plaza and CDI have transformed the Center’s campus and created flexible outdoor spaces for performances, community events, international festivals, pre-show dining and picnicking. Segerstrom Center is continuing its efforts to engage and serve the diverse communities of Orange County in new and innovative ways, and redefining what arts organizations can do for their communities.
Segerstrom Center for the Arts is at 600 Town Center Drive in Costa Mesa.

Dracula Live in Concert
10.25.17
Film buffs are in for a thrill when Philip Glass along with the Grammy Award-winning Kronos Quartet perform live during the 1931 film classic, Dracula at Segerstrom Center for the Arts on Saturday, Oct. 28 at 7:30 p.m.
The Philharmonic Society of Orange County and Segerstrom Center for the Arts are co-presenting Tod Browning’s Dracula starring Bela Lugosi with original music by Philip Glass performed live by the legendary composer at the piano, the Grammy Award-winning Kronos Quartet, with Mick Rossi directing from the keyboard. The concert takes place over Halloween weekend on Saturday, October 28, 2017 at 7:30 p.m.
Roger Ebert wrote, “The Glass score is effective in the way it suggests not just moody creepiness, but the urgency and need behind Dracula's vampirism. It evokes a blood thirst that is 500 years old."
Single tickets start at $59 and are now available through both Segerstrom Center for the Arts and the Philharmonic Society. Tickets may be purchased through Segerstrom Center for the Arts online at SCFTA.org; in person at the Center’s Box Office at 600 Town Center Drive in Costa Mesa; or by calling 714.556.2787. Tickets may be purchased through the Philharmonic Society online at PhilharmonicSociety.org; in person at the Philharmonic Society office located at 2082 Business Center Drive, Suite 100, in Irvine; or by calling 949.553.2422.
