OC Based Kicktail Energy Mixers
12.21.17
A new, first-of-its-kind natural energy cocktail mixer line has hit the shelves and bars of Orange County, bringing a brand-new product concept to market. OC based Kicktail Energy Mixers are enriched with caffeine, taurine and B-group vitamins, giving classic cocktails a boost of energy without compromising a customer’s drink-of-choice. Cans of Kicktail can also be consumed own as a zero to low sugar energy drink.
Newport Beach native Darin Rasmussen was on a mission to research and develop an energy product that would enhance his cocktails, rather than overpower his drinks with sweeteners and medicinal flavors. He became tired of what seemed like the only energy product on the market that was mixed with alcohol, and its unappealing, one-note flavor. In search of something that could be infused into the craft cocktail phenomenon, he spent one year in a test kitchen, researching and developing flavor profiles, natural energy ingredients, and finally came up with Kicktail Energy Mixers offer six all-natural flavors: Ginger Beer, Club Soda, Tonic Water, Cranberry, Lemon Lime and Cola.
Kicktail’s Mixers and the brand’s mascot – Klubby Soda – can be found mixed at select Orange County drinking establishments including, the Stag Bar, District Lounge, Malarky’s Irish Pub and Cruisers.
Cases can be purchased at kicktailmixers.com and are available on Amazon Prime.

Moulin’s Parisian Holiday Market Takeover
12.20.17
Moulin’s Newport Beach patisserie has transformed into a Parisian holiday market. Named One of The Best Holiday Markets in the US by Food & Wine, Moulin’s market will run through December 31.
From the moment you enter Moulin’s patisserie, you’ll be transported to Paris with the smell of freshly baked pastries, the sound of French Christmas music playing, and the sight of artisan tarts glimmering in the pastry case. From floor to ceiling, the patisserie is brimming with beautiful holiday baskets of all sizes filled with everything a true Francophile could ever dream of.
Some highlights of this market a display case glistening with fine pastries including large-format St. Honoré and Sesame-Fig Tarts, artisan foie gras with Jurançon, and a Nebuchadnezzar of Bollinger’s Special Cuvée.
The walls boast fine epicurean items sourced directly from France including mustards by Amora and Savora, Sel de Guerande, and Cornichons de Maille; a variety of luxurious French chocolates from artisan chocolatiers Poulain and Banania; limited production Alain Milliat jams and fruit juices; as well as tableware from Marat d’Avignon and handmade knives from Laguiole.
Open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday to Thursday; 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday; and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday.
Moulin is at 1000 N Bristol St. in Newport Beach. 949.474.0920.
