Casa Romantica Celebrates Surf and Beach Culture, ‘Endless Summer’

Summer never ends this Fall! Casa Romantica Cultural Center and Gardens, a nonprofit Southern California cultural center and arts destination, is celebrating Orange County and Southern California surf culture with its latest theme, Endless Summer.
The first of four themes in the Casa Captivating Fall and Winter Season, Endless Summer has activities for all ages to enjoy; from a beach clean-up, jazz dance series, art exhibition, concerts, and more! Endless Summer will kick off with an official opening reception on Thursday, September 29 at 6 p.m., where three Southern California artists will debut their collections curated for the Endless Summer art exhibition. Casa Romantica’s connections programming celebrates diverse themes inspired by the SouthernCalifornia community through concerts, exhibitions, film screens, and cultural events.
The public is invited to attend the official opening reception to the Endless Summer ArtExhibition on September 29, where artists Wade Koniakowsky, Kristianne Koch Riddle, and Olga Lah will be showcasing their installations that will be on display on the Casa Romantica grounds. Casa Romantica’s Endless Summer events will continue through the fall season, and include an Adult Surf Jazz Dance series, “Surfs Up!” D. Yoder Family Sunday with free admission and activities, a driftwood air plant workshop, and a highly-anticipated concert with Beach Boy tribute band Woodie and the Longboards!

Be one of the first to see the surf culture and ocean-inspired installations and
meet the exhibiting artists Wade Koniakowsky, Kristianne Koch Riddle and Olga Lah. Beer tastings will be available from Los Molinos Beer.
Endless Summer Art Exhibition On display September 29 - TBA
Three artists depict surf culture and the influence of the ocean using different mediums.
Class Series: Adult Surf Jazz Dance
September 20-October 11, 2022 @ 6 PM (4 weeks) • $80 (Members $60)
A beginning Jazz dance class using beach music from the 60s. Appropriate for ages 16+.
D. Yoder Family Sundays: Surf's Up!
Sunday, October 2, 2022 @ 10 AM-2 PM • FREE
Celebrate surf culture with family-friendly activities including a lifeguard talk @ 10:30 AM and crafts for kids.
Driftwood Air Plant Display
Wednesday, October 12, 2022 @ 6 PM • $50 (Members $35)
Create your own beautiful driftwood air plant display using driftwood, air plants, shells, and rocks. All materials included; appropriate for ages 12+.
Casa Cool: Woodie and the Longboards on Wednesday, October 19th, 2022 @ 7 PM $30 single tickets (Members $20) •Tables SOLD OUT
Live music under the stars in Casa Romantica’s Courtyard! Woodie and the
Longboards is one of the most in-demand tribute acts in the country, performing all of the hits of the Beach Boys and more from the era.

Pacific Airshow: What to Know, Before You Go

Pacific Airshow Huntington Beach promises thrilling action in the sky and large crowds on the shore (September 30 – October 2). Show organizers are recommending anyone planning to attend the event keep a few things in mind to ensure the best experience possible. Those at home can stream LIVE Pacific Airshow coverage on Hulu on October 1, beginning at 11 a.m.
Savvy show visitors can:
- Download the Pacific Airshow App for event updates and daily schedules
- Performer schedule presented by Boeing
- Make a day of it by arriving early and staying late with flying beginning around 10:30 a.m. daily
- Utilize Uber, Lyft, Shuttles or Bikes to avoid traffic and parking
- Huntington Beach Police Department will ticket or tow illegally parked vehicles
- Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water and remember, snacks are critical for a great day
- Bring your own or plan to purchase from Huntington Beach street vendors or food trucks along the bike path
- Remember, sunscreen, hats, and umbrellas provide great protection
- Bring earplugs for children and noise-sensitive adults - it’s going to be loud
- Leave drones at home - Pacific Airshow is a No Drone Zone
- Bring cameras and binoculars
- Arrive early to secure limited ADA pier seating
