Soka Welcomes Seong-Jin Cho & Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center
12.04.23
This December in Orange County, renowned pianist Seong-Jin Cho, acclaimed by the Washington Post for having "the musical potential to take his place alongside the greats of the past," and the esteemed Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center (CMS), celebrated by the Star Tribune as "One of the world’s most distinguished chamber ensembles," are set to deliver mesmerizing performances.
Presented jointly by the Philharmonic Society of Orange County and Soka Performing Arts Center, these concerts are scheduled for December 5 and December 9, 2023, at the Soka Performing Arts Center. Audiences can anticipate Seong-Jin Cho's interpretations of pieces by Mozart, Ravel, and Liszt. Additionally, the CMS will present Bach's Complete Brandenburg Concerti, often regarded as the pinnacle of baroque concertos.
Bach's Brandenburg Concertos, considered among the most illustrious of baroque compositions, have captivated listeners for centuries with their enduring appeal, dynamic instrumentation, and technical brilliance. These concertos uniquely highlight each instrument group, creating rare combinations and solo opportunities. Each of the six concertos offers a distinct experience, ranging from the robust first to the dignified second, the rustic third, the sublime fourth, and the spirited fifth, culminating in the exuberant sixth.
Soka Performing Arts Center is located at 1 University Drive, Aliso Viejo, CA 92656. Ticket prices start at $55 and are available at the Philharmonic Society box office at (949) 553-2422, online at PhilharmonicSociety.org, at the Soka box office at (949) 480-4278 and online at performingarts.soka.edu.
