Jessica Vosk’s California Dreamin’ Concert Brings Sounds of the ‘60s and ‘70s
01.19.24
Segerstrom Center for the Arts is thrilled to showcase "California Dreamin’: Jessica Vosk Sings the Songwriters of Laurel Canyon." This exclusive event is set to light up the Renée and Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall on January 26, 2024, at 8 p.m. Following her sold-out performances in Samueli Theater, the exceptionally talented Jessica Vosk is back for a one-night-only show to welcome the New Year with style.
This performance is a tribute to the iconic California songwriters of the ‘60s and ’70s, promising an evening filled with classic tunes, rhythmic vibes, and a trip down memory lane.
"California Dreamin’" showcases Vosk's deep appreciation for the influential California songwriters whose harmonious and groundbreaking compositions form the backdrop of her earliest musical influences. She pays tribute to legends like Joni Mitchell, Neil Young, David Crosby, Linda Ronstadt, John Phillips, The Mamas & the Papas, as well as Eagles' Don Henley and Glenn Frey, among others, who crafted the quintessential West Coast pop sound that defined a generation. This show, a collaboration between Vosk, esteemed music director Mary-Mitchell Campbell and renowned director James Darrah (with whom Vosk worked on the acclaimed "The Bernstein Centennial Celebration at Tanglewood"), is a deep dive into Laurel Canyon’s rich musical heritage.
Prepare to be mesmerized by Vosk's powerful voice, delivering timeless songs in a way that is both authentic to their era and resonant with today's audiences. Don't miss this opportunity to witness one of today's most dynamic and engaging artists in a unique and captivating performance.
Tickets start at $39 and are available for purchase online at scfta.org, in person at 600 Town Center Drive Costa Mesa, CA 92626, or by phone at (714) 556-2787.
