Sushi Ii Introduces Artisan Japanese Cocktails and Premium Sake Selection
04.04.24
Sushi Ii, renowned for its authentic Japanese cuisine, now offers a curated cocktail selection for the first time since its establishment in February 2020. Crafted to complement Master Chef Susumu Ii’s Omakase dishes, these cocktails highlight Japanese spirits and are served over meticulously crafted ice imported from Japan.
General Manager and Beverage Director Natsuko Travioli has developed a limited, three-cocktail menu that showcases Japanese artistry and simplicity. Imported ice from Kuramoto, a prestigious ice manufacturing company in Kanazawa, Japan, adds a touch of luxury to each drink, emphasizing the purity of ingredients and elegant glassware.
Highlights include the Toki High Ball with Suntory whiskey and club soda, and the sparkling Ume Soda made with Choya Plum Wine, club soda, and a honey-fermented plum. Each cocktail is served over Kuramoto’s cracked Kachiwari ice, reflecting the Japanese aesthetic principle of wabi-sabi.
In addition to cocktails, Sushi Ii offers a selection of Japanese whiskies and premium sakes by the glass, including Dassai Beyond and Kikuhime Diaginjo Kukurihime. This unique tasting experience allows guests to enjoy premium sake without committing to a whole bottle, further enhancing the restaurant's commitment to Japanese culinary excellence.
Sushi Ii is located at Mariner’s Pointe (100 West Coast Hwy, Newport Beach) and is open for lunch Tuesday through Saturday, with reservation times available from 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. and for dinner Tuesday through Sunday, with reservation times available from 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. For more information, please visit their website
