Nekter Juice Bar Grand Opening at SCP

Orange County entrepreneurs and husband and wife team, Steve and Alexis Schulze opened their first Nekter Juice Bar in Costa Mesa in 2010, and now 55 locations later, the Schulzes are opening a flagship restaurant today South Coast Plaza. It will showcase Nekter Juice Bar’s array of cold-pressed and freshly-made juices, smoothies, acai bowls, and more. All products are easily accessible to enjoy daily.

 During the grand opening celebration, Nekter fans will be treated to several special promotions, including $1 juices and smoothies (regularly priced at $5.95), and a grand opening special price of $30 for any 1-Day Classic or Signature Cleanse, while supplies last (normally priced at $45 and $55). And, 15% of the day’s sales will be donated to Festival of Children. 

Nekter at South Coast Plaza showcases a fresh and modern look with both contemporary and natural design elements such as honey-toned wood floors and inspirational wall art. There are varied seating options such as a communal bistro bar, for quick visits, and soft seating lounge areas and banquettes in case you want to relax and enjoy a juice, smoothie or acai bowl.

Open 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday; 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday; and 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Sunday.

Melissa’s Produce Book Signing With Cathy Thomas

Melissa's Produce is hosting a book signing event on Friday, March 18 from 2 to 5 p.m. at Chefs' Toys in Fountain Valley with Cathy Thomas, author of “Melissa's Great Book of Produce,” “Melissa's Everyday Cooking with Organic Produce” and the 352-page “50 Best Plants on the Planet”.

Cathy is an award-winning columnist, and has written for the Orange County Register for more than 25 years.

Cathy will share her passion for cooking, and produce, and you can enjoy some delicious food from her books.  There will be raffle drawings, hors d'oeuvres samples catered by executive chef Bill Bracken of Bracken's Kitchen, his non-profit that provides tasty and nutritious meals to people in need - served up from his bright-red food truck "Betsy.”  There will also be demonstrations by Chef Toys' chef Doug Schonfeld and chefs at Melissa’s Produce.
