Inaugural OC Brew Ho Ho
12.05.12
The same good people who brought us the OC Brew Ha Ha, hailed as Orange County’s “Best Craft Beer Festival,” are now getting festive with the inaugural OC Brew Ho Ho! Holiday Ale Festival on Saturday from noon to 4 p.m. at the Phoenix Club in Anaheim. For beer lovers this is a dream holiday event come true; award-winning SoCal breweries will be pouring more than 50 craft and import beers in support of Yellow Ribbon America – Operation Christmas and the Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation. The festival will feature an afternoon full of unlimited beers tastings, a commemorative festival glass, great food, festive music and a holiday shopping experience.
Guests will enjoy special holiday food menus from The Phoenix Club and popular food trucks like Rancho-a-Go-Go and The Viking Truck. The famous Slater's 50/50 will be on hand with a special Brew Ho Ho Holiday Burger for the event. Top it off with delicious creations from Drunken Udder Ice Cream, Brew Cakes and more. This event will also feature a rare Brewery Merchandise Expo offering unique gift options for the craft beer lovers in your life.
And just in time for the holiday season, the Award Winning Bootlegger’s Brewery, Pizza Port San Clemente and Newport Beach Brewing Company have created an exclusive “Brew Ho Ho Holiday Strong Ale” for the festival. The limited release beer brewed with English yeast and chocolate malts contains subtle hints of sugar and spice. A limited number of bottles of this special beer will be available to purchase at the breweries after the festival.
Tasting passes to OC Brew Ho Ho! Holiday Ale Festival cost $45 and include a commemorative festival glass, unlimited 3 oz. tastes, entrance to the Brewery Merchandise Expo, and Free parking. Costa Mesa will receive a holiday winter wonderland with 40 tons of snow, more than enough to cover an entire football field, at Costa Mesa’s Balearic Community Park on Saturday, Dec. 8 from 9 a.m. to noon. The event is made possible by Torelli Realty. Families can take photos with Santa Claus in his sleigh with real reindeer, engage in fun games and activities and enjoy local food and beverage concessions, including a Kona Ice Truck. Proceeds will go to schools in Costa Mesa. Everyone is encouraged to bring a toy or food item for donation.
Balearic Community Park is at 1975 Balearic Drive in Costa Mesa.
