Introducing Greer’s Girl: Mimi Ngo

06.19.15

We are thrilled to announce our newest Greer's Girl: Mimi Ngo! She'll be a regular contributor along with Andrea Hammer.

Mimi Ngo is a southern California native who is a junior at California State University, Long Beach as an English rhetoric and composition major.

Mimi is also a professional makeup artist who is always in the know with the latest beauty trends of the season. She finds most of her makeup inspiration through runway looks featured at fashion week and likes finding ways to transform editorial trends to everyday wearable looks.

With her unconditional love for all food, Mimi is often looking for the best breakfast burritos in Orange County. Being of Mexican and Vietnamese descent, she especially has a warm place in her stomach for both of these types of cuisines.

Along with enjoying the food Orange County has to offer, Mimi likes to find balance in practicing Yoga, and likes exploring the local outdoors for refreshing places to hike or jog.

Great Eats at East Borough

06.19.15

By Mimi Ngo

Located at The CAMP in Costa Mesa, you will find a casual outdoor patio closely resembling an outdoor eatery in Vietnam. This little food getaway is called East Borough. It offers a refreshing twist on traditional Vietnamese/French street food without losing sight of authenticity.

The menu offers salads, spring rolls, vermicelli noodle entrees and rice dishes.  East Borough also offers a variety of Bánh Mì (baguette sandwhiches), and although they do not serve Pho, they do make a Pho baguette sandwich.

Traditionally, Vietnamese spring rolls are made with mostly shrimp, pork or tofu. In addition to the traditional fillings, you will find a chicken option seasoned with fresh ginger and served with their house peanut sauce.

If you’re in the mood to satisfy your sweet tooth, for $2, you can indulge in four crispy sesame balls which are small pastries filled with a sweet mung bean paste.

Seating can be limited at peak hours so curbside ordering is also available.
