Wear to Where: Lashing out with Beau Monde Beauty
01.11.12
I think my beauty routine has officially been changed forever by Beau Monde Beauty. Recently I was getting my makeup done for a photo shoot and Nikki Lee, artist and owner of Beau Monde, suggested I ditch the store bought clumps that I often use on my non-existant eyelashes and instead get extensions from her lash specialist. I was a little apprehensive about the whole process, but Nikki assured me the results would be transformative..
After an hour or so of complete relaxation listening to the waves crash below in their outside salon that over looks Pearl Street Beach (even dozed off a few times), I was AMAZED by the immediate results. My eyelashes were gorgeous - exactly how I've always wished they were. After going over the benefits and rules of lash care I was pleased to realize that I didn't have to wear mascara for once in my life. Long and thick, my lashes filled the void that my eye makeup once did. In other words, I'm extremely excited to just run out the door in the morning with little powder, blush and lipgloss on..
But lash extensions aren't the only thing the Beau Monde beauties specializes in. Owners/Sisters Nikki Lee and Bonnie Vacaro opened their Beauty Boutique with 30 combined years of experience in the skin care and beauty industries; most notably with Laura Mercier, Chanel, Estee Lauder and Lancome. They're bringing a whole new vibe to the beauty scene in Laguna Beach with their stunning boutique filled with products, jewelry and accessories that will help you look stylish and beautiful from head to toe and services that include nails, waxing, spray tans, glyco peels and age defying facials.
Besides being the greatest lash lady in Laguna Beach, Mallorie Mason is also one of their key makeup artists with numerous years of experience including editorial, print and television work. And rounding out their crew and by far the best nail technician in town is Terri Doty (you must go visit her for a set of Minx Nails). She's been with the sisters from the beginning adding over 21 years of experience in the chair.
In honor of the New Year and maybe a new you, the Ladies of Beau Monde are offering $25 off any purchase or services over $100 to all my readers when you mention Greer's OC.

Elemeno Pea!
01.10.12
“Elemeno Pea”, a smart comedy about utter chaos, and the rich behaving at their worse in Martha’s Vineyard is making its West Coast premiere at the South Coast Repertory on Jan. 27 through Feb. 26 on the Segerstrom Stage.
The play centers around two polar opposite sisters, down-to-earth Devon and status-seeking Simone on a weekend trip gone wrong to a beachfront mansion. There’s plenty of squabbling, jealousy, marital discord, and of course comic relief.
“Elemeno Pea” marks the SoCal directorial debut of SCR artistic director Marc Masterson, who spearheaded the play’s world premiere when he was at the Actors Theatre of Louisville.
Showing 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Tuesday and Wednesday; and 8 p.m. Thursday to Saturday, with matinees starting at 2:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Tickets cost $20 to $68.
Tickets can be purchased online at www.scr.org, by phone at 714.708.5555 or by visiting the box office at 655 Town Center Drive in Costa Mesa.
