Wear to Where: Minty

Wear to Where: So Minty

03.07.12

This spring it’s all about one pastel: Mint Green. Seen on the Spring 2012 runways of Zac Posen, Jil Sander and Elie Saab Couture, among others, this fresh and pretty hue is this year’s spring essential. A particularly fresh and delightful alternative to white, this light green shade looks great in solid, simple designs and is a great color for accent accessories. What’s the best way to wear it? Mix it with deep tans and nudes for a fresh, modern look, or play it up by pairing the color with other pretty pastels. Just think of pastel shades as updated neutrals. The popular way to wear this subtle yet sumptuous hue is in flowy dresses and tops, soft skinnies and sweaters. Mint is such a refreshing color and one we haven’t seen in a while so to get the full scoop and add this pretty shade of green to your spring wardrobe.

1. If you had to begin a different career, what would you do?
Definitely a therapist. People tend to feel comfortable confiding in me and asking advice, sometimes people I barely know. It would be nice to get paid to do it.

2.What’s your most prized possession?
My little yorkie Max. I bought him four years about from Puppy Shop Boys in Costa Mesa and he has been a total blessing.

3. Favorite drink?
High C with Wheat Grass from Whole Foods juice bar.

4. What are you cutting out because of the economy?
I don’t shop as much which is challenging since I work for a shopping center developer and my office is in a mall.

5. Fantasy purchase?
An Alfa Romeo.

6. What can’t you live without?
Lipstick and eye drops.

7. What’s next on your “to do” list?
To get organized and gear up for Pipeline to a Cure benefiting Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (Orange County chapter) on July 14. This is an annual event for which I sit on the committee and we are currently seeking sponsors, volunteers, and in-kind donations.

8. Biggest regret?
Maybe too personal for this space.

9. Cause that you’re most interested/involved in?
Finding a cure for Cystic Fibrosis (CF). My beautiful niece Emily was diagnosed 15 years ago. Initially I was involved in our grass roots efforts through Emily’s Army, and ultimately through the Southern California (Anaheim Chapter).

10. Your dream day in Orange County?
Dog beach with Max, followed by brunch at Panini Cafe in CDM, sailing or boating of some type and then going out somewhere for live music, preferably in a small venue

11. Favorite place for breakfast?
Clover Grill in New Orleans. It is a tiny little hole in the wall/breakfast counter at the very end of Bourbon Street with the most delicious basis breakfast. It has been there since 1939 and has a ton of history plus several movies have used it as a location including "This Property Is Condemned" and "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button."

12. What was the best day of your life?
It will be the day that a cure for CF is found.

13. Last concert that you went to?
The ASCAP Lounge in Park City, Utah held a series of acoustic performances during Sundance which featured Josh Kelley, We Are Augustine, John Norte, Natasha Bedingfield and Ben Taylor in a small, casual setting. It was a fun and unexpected way to escape from the snow for a few hours.

14. Favorite vacation spot?
New Orleans, hands down. I love the people, food and music, and everything from Frenchman Street, to the cemeteries to the swamps. The architecture is beautiful and has a great mix of Spanish and French influences.

15. If you had to live somewhere else, where would you like to move?
Sonoma.

16. Favorite books?
"The Horse Whisperer," "The Glass Castle," "Atonement."

17. Favorite restaurants in Orange County?
Outside of The District, some of my favorites include Phans 55, Gypsy Den, Sushi Wave and A Restaurant.

18. Biggest accomplishment?
Career wise one of my biggest accomplishments was landing "This Week" with David Brinkley when I was a PR Coordinator for the Luxor Hotel in Las Vegas. My biggest personal accomplishment is yet to come ...

19. What’s your biggest fear?
I love the ocean and although it is one of the main reasons I relocated to Orange County, I’m terrified of it.

20. Secret most people don't know about you
I turned down a small role in the movie "Con Air" – probably a blessing in disguise if you’ve seen it!
