Pacific Coast Wine Festival

02.05.13

Wine benefits music education at one of the most decadent wine festivals of the year on Saturday at 5 p.m. at the newly renovated Island Hotel in Newport Beach. The Pacific Coast Wine Festival is a fantastic evening of first-class wine tastings, a delicious wine-paired feast and a silent and live auction of rare wines like eight bottles of a new release from Screaming Eagle, and exceptional experiences like two weekend getaways in a Ferrari and a Maserati.

Proceeds will benefit the Pacific Symphony. For the first time, renowned wine aficionados will play hosts as Master Sommelier Michael Jordon brings his expert commentary during the live auction and shares wines from the Piedmont wine region of Italy, and Master of Wine and Cape Wine Master Peter Koff shares his depth of knowledge of table of wines from South Africa. Guest will also enjoy performance by three members of Pacific Symphony Youth Orchestra: Katherine Park, violin; Matthew Gustafson, cello; and Natalie Cernius, piano, performing “Winter” by Astor Piazzolla.

Tickets cost $375 per person. For information, contact the Symphony’s special events department at 714.876.2364 or rshab@PacificSymphony.org and visit PacificCoastWineFestival.com.

The evening ends with guests enjoying vintage port and gourmet chocolates, sponsored by Whole Foods.

Island Hotel is at 690 Newport Center Drive in Newport Beach. 949.759.0808.
