1. If you had to begin a different career, what would you do?
I’m a serial entrepreneur, I’d still start another company. Probably something that would allow me to include my friends in the venture, and without all of the compliance complexities of my current practice. It would include some of my natural loves: technology, connecting, and philanthropy.
2. What’s your most prized possession?
Well, not exactly a “possession” per se, but my greatest joys are my three sons (all 5 and under).
3. Favorite drink?
I almost never drink this except when I fly, but I do love ginger ale.
4. What are you most proud of?
Raising happy, bright, polite children and building a successful business *at the same time*.
5. Fantasy purchase?
I’d buy a startup company.
6. What can’t you live without?
My family and my friends.
7. What’s next on your “to do” list?
Draw images for the children’s story I wrote for my kids. It’s called “Turtle’s Soup”.
8. Biggest regret?
I certainly have had disappointments and challenges, but I’m not sure that I have any true regret. Every disappointment or challenge led to a lesson, which helped me good or bad, become the person that I’ve become.
9. Cause that you’re most interested/involved in?
Any cause that relates to children. As our business grows so does our ability (and desire) to give more, that’s so invigorating. Our company takes a percentage of profits each year and gives to a select group of children charities.
10. Your dream day in Orange County?
It could be anywhere in Orange County as long as my kids were around. They would probably say Pretend City Children’s museum or any park with ducks. As a very busy working mommy, I just want time with them.
11. Favorite place for breakfast?
The St. Regis.
12. What was the best day of your life?
Without hesitation: The day I married my husband Tim.
13. Last concert that you went to?
It was Journey, it was recent, and yes, it was work-related.
14. Favorite vacation spot?
Northern Italy with a twist of Como.
15. If you had to live somewhere else, where would you like to move?
Palo Alto, Northern California.
16. Favorite books?
Anything by Mo Willems.
17. Favorite restaurants in Orange County?
Mozza, Charlie Palmer’s, Bruxie.
18. Biggest accomplishment?
Crushing the “glass ceiling” in a male-dominated industry while being a very “present” mom to three kids during the process.
19. What’s your biggest fear?
That something happens to my kids or husband.
20. Secret most people don’t know about you?
In my early 20s, I started a television audience company out of my college dorm room and sold it nicely to a competitor a few years later.
