Cocktails for a Cause
06.04.14
By Natalie Aronson
Supporting a great cause has never tasted better. Nationwide, Negroni Week has kicked off and we are lucky enough to sip and dine on Italian classics in Brea. From June 2-8, for every classic Negroni cocktail served at Brunos Trattoria in Brea, a portion of the proceeds will benefit The Mobile Closet, a local organization that distributes clothing and blankets to those in need within our community.
The Negroni embodies the quality and craftsmanship of Brunos beverage program, utilizing premium Italian spirits and liqueurs. All of Brunos cocktails indulge in your senses and satiate your pallet to pair nicely with their dishes or to kick the evening off. Two of my favorites are the Lambosco Martini and Peach Sour.
The Lambosco, made with blackberries, Fragoli Liqueur, lime, lambrusco and vodka, pairs nicely with their Cozze, or mussels cooked with white wine, garlic and fresh herbs. The Peach Sour made with Makers Mark, white peach, coo ciaro, honey and lemon is enjoyable with the Arancini, or risotto balls stuffed with panchetta, cheeses and served with a fresh marinara sauce.
Negroni Week is only in its second year, but has made such an enormous impact, pairing delicious foods and one of the world’s greatest cocktails to raise money for charities globally. If Brunos ends the week as the top fundraiser in the nation, Campari will donate ten thousands dollars to our local sponsorship, The Mobile Closet.
Come on in to Brunos to support Negroni Week and stay for the warm ambiance. I stopped by for Brunos Happy Hour -which happens Tuesday-Sunday , 4pm-7pm and boasts drinks from $4-$7- and ended up staying for three hours! You really do feel like part of the family as the waiters and owners work endlessly to ensure you get the most out of your dining experience.
Brunos Trattoria is at 210 W. Birch St. in Brea. 714.257.1000.
