Babette’s Cocktails and Valentine’s Celebrations

Next week, Babette’s at Newport Coast, the East Coast-born New American eatery is planning a special Fords Gin cocktail event on Tuesday, February 10 and on Saturday, February 14, you can order off the regular menu and there will be romance -inspired cocktails and a few special dishes for Valentine’s Day.
On Tuesday, Dushan Zaric of The 86 Company will be joining Babette's to discuss all things Fords Gin. Fords cocktails will be flowing, and it’s best to call to reserve a seat.
Babette’s Fords evening cocktail menu includes a Fords Martini with Fords Gin, Noilly Pratt Dry Vermouth, Reagan's No.6 Orange Bitters- orange twist; a Fords Sour with Fords Gin, lemon, sugar, egg white, Reagan's No.6 Orange Bitters-nutmeg, orange peel; or a Tom Fords Collins with Fords Gin, lemon, sugar, soda- lemon peel. There is also a Fords Bitter Brown with Fords Gin, Averna, Punt e Mess, Jerry Thomas bitters- orange peel; or a Fords Army Navy with Fords Gin, Orgeat, lemon, Angostura Bitters and cinnamon.
On Valentine’s Day, you can order off the regular menu, no prix-fixed menus, just a few special dishes and special cocktails will include Act 2, Sc. 2, Capulet's Orchard with Pimm's No. 1, Fords Gin, Mandarine Napoleon, Falernum, lemon- mint; and a Honeymoon Cocktail with St. George Apple Brandy, Pierre Ferrand Dry Orange Curaçao, Benedictine and lemon.
Valentine’s Day special dishes include an amuse bouche with beet mustard, pickled baby onions, fennel, blood orange, herbs and crostini.
And a main course, RR Ranch Filet Mignon (organic-grass fed) with lentils du puy, cippolini onions, roasted baby carrots and Bordelaise.
For dessert, there’s a decadent chocolate fudge cake with salted caramel, carmelized bananas and hazelnuts.
Open 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday through Wednesday; 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday and Saturday.
