Ask a Stylist | Fall for J. Crew
08.21.12
Yes, it's summer and yes it's super hot, but in the Fashion world it's Fall; spend some time shopping and you'll see what I mean. So in hopes of grabbing all the pieces we need before the weather turns cool and everything we loved is gone; I coaxed my favorite Stylist at J. Crew Meghan Rowe, a veteran of the retail world for 15 years to get the inside scoop on what we have to have for Fall and why it won't be around when we actually need it.
What pieces from J. Crew are you loving right now? I can't get enough of our colored corduroy, they're the "IT" pant for Fall. Buy them skinny or with a flare, you can't go wrong; I especially love the rich colors like Cabernet, our Classic Wash and Dark Charcoal. Of course I'm also craving boots and booties, if it weren't so hot I'd be wearing them everyday; and Cashmere of course, it always goes fast here so if you want it I say snatch up your favorites now!!!!!
In addition to your favorites above what should every Woman have in their wardrobe for fall? I think having go-to statement necklaces and leopard accessories are the key items to round out any wardrobe.
Why do you think J. Crew is the go-to place for a lot of Women? We have a great fit, limiteless options, multiple colors and our pieces are timeless. We cater to so many personalities in one store, preppy, classic, contemporary and yes edgy. I love all the color our store has to offer every season, not to mention the prices are unreal!
What color is dominating at J. Crew for Fall? I'm loving all the Wine colors and of course Navy is my go to. But the pops of fuchsia and some black and white polka dots are so fun.
Shoes, what do we need? Wedge booties, anything leopard and a t-strap pump.
What's the biggest question you get from clients when they're shopping in December and it's cold? Where is all the cold weather clothing! When the weather finally gets cool here in Orange County we are already into Resort or Spring. If you're looking to build you Fall wardrobe start now.
So there you have it, buying cashmere in 100 degrees heat? Yes! And you get to take advantage of their air conditioning.
