Otosan Take-out Orders Special

12.16.20

With in-person dining once again paused, Otosan, the popular sushi destination located at 2nd + PCH in Long Beach, has launched quick and affordable take-out options that reflect the restaurant’s commitment to quality and culinary creativity. Take-out orders that exceed $100 (before tax) will receive a $25 bonus gift to be used on a future visit. Take-out and delivery orders can be placed online at otosan-sushi.com or via telephone at 562.431.1334.

While the take-out menu is intended to highlight some of Otosan’s signature dishes, such as Gyoza with house-made and pan-fried  pork and beef dumplings and Kushi Katsu panko-fried skewers, the menu is designed to allow for quick execution and carryout.

“Since we’re unable to have guests dine with us in-person, our take-out menu is designed to introduce guests to what Otosan is all about,” said Owner Jae Woo, the brains and brawn behind the restaurant. “It’s important at this time that we continue to deliver a quality product, which means premium ingredients and no fillers. If you order a blue crab handroll, it’s made with 100% blue crab – period.”

A few highlights on Otosan’s takeout menu include handroll flights featuring a trio for $25.  Selections, which vary week-to-week, include a savory truffle avocado, spicy tuna, blue crab, yellowtail, jalapeno, baked crab or avocado. Woo has also added a selection of made-to-order subarashī (translation: extra) crispy rice offerings with the same selection and savory toppings. There is also an array of starters, soups, salads and noodles along with sashimi, cut rolls and sushi flights.

While the take-out menu has been modified to be more streamline during the shutdown, Otosan will be happy to accommodate guests with selections from their regular menu when possible, including omakase and flights.

Otosan, which means father in Japanese, is a collaboration between Woo and her father, a 40-year restaurateur who owns eateries in Portland, Oregon.  Otosan is Woo’s love letter to her dad who she credits with teaching her everything about running a restaurant and, more importantly, how to connect with others through good food.

“These are truly trying times for restaurateurs,” continued Woo. “Once in-person dining is allowed, including indoors, we’ll finally be able to showcase Otosan as originally intended with Kaiseki-style dining – only more approachable.”

Otosan is open daily for takeout from 11:30 a.m.- 7:30 p.m. and is located on the ground level at 2nd + PCH, Long Beach’s newest lifestyle center adjacent to Alamitos Bay Marina. For quick in-and-out access, park along Marina Drive at the opposite end of Whole Foods.  For more information or to order takeout and delivery, visit Otosan-sushi.com or call 562.431.1334.
