New Brunch at Pacific Hideaway

The newest Huntington Beach dining destination, Pacific Hideaway at Shorebreak Hotel launched a daily brunch offering from 7 a.m. – 2 p.m. With breakfast-y items such as Banana Muffin French Toast with condensed milk, candied pecans, strawberries, bananas, California Breakfast Burrito with scrambled eggs, bacon, waffle fries, avocado, cheddar cheese, sweet thai chili sauce, and afternoon bites like Ahi Poke Tostadas wonton chips, yuzu-sriracha slaw and Hideaway Burger with cheddar, ‘keep it 100’ sauce, house-made pickle, waffle fries, Pacific Hideaway’s brunch menu takes guests from early morning to mid-afternoon with a beachside vibes.
Special a.m. cocktails include the What's Up Doc? with reposado tequila, carrot, apple, orange, ginger, lemon, Bebe Verde with tomatillo shrub, cucumber, blanco tequila, jalapeno pasilla, cerveza, and more.
Open 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily.

Oak & Coal, Yakitori and Craft Beer Eatery

Eastside Costa Mesa just landed a new Japanese-style yakitori and craft beer eatery. Oak & Coal features Japanese skewers of organic, free range poultry, wagyu beef, free range pork, and fresh vegetables cooked slowly over Japanese oak. And, you can also enjoy a rotating tap selection of craft beers from various local breweries. The menu also includes soba noodle dishes as well as daily handmade kimchi dumplings in limited supply.
Owner Jeff Chon also runs The Alley in Newport Beach, Tabu Shabu, and The Wayfarer in Costa Mesa.
Happy Hour runs from 5 to 7 p.m., Monday through Thursday. Enjoy 20% off food and $5 drafts and sakes.
No corkage special on wine from Caps & Corks or Hi Time Wine Cellars.
Open 5 to 11 p.m. Sunday through Thursday; 5 p.m. to midnight Friday and Saturday.
