Orange Julius at the Block
02.21.12
For longtime fans who remember the Orange Julius, a frothy creamy drink invented in 1926 by Julius Freed in Los Angeles, you can get a small taste of nostalgia at the newest DQ Orange Julius store at The Block at Orange. The legendary Julius Originals are served with an array of fruit drinks and smoothies, alongside Dairy Queen’s soft-serve treats such as the iconic Blizzard Treats, MooLatté frozen coffee flavored beverages, and made-fresh-daily waffle bowls and cones served plain or dipped in chocolate. Waffle bowl sundaes can come with toppings too.
Customers can also enjoy the full line of Orange Julius premium fruit smoothies and fruit-blended beverages. The shop also serves hot dogs and iron grilled sandwiches.
20 City Boulevard West in Orange.
There are also DQ/Orange Julius at Westminster Mall, Brea Mall, and Santa Ana Main Place. 714. 892.7330.

Trending Tribal
02.15.12
One of my favorite Fall trends is carrying over to Spring and while I believe you can never have too many monochromatic closet staples, lately I've had a serious crush on clothing that makes a bold statement and I can't stop recommending them for my clients. Last spring there was a preponderance of fashion-forward femmes who were trying the Tribal trend: think ethnic prints paired with loads of leather and studs. Of course, prints are always huge news for spring, but I'm pleased to report that this year both designers and directional dressers are taking a new approach to patterns. This season the focus has shifted to digitally engineered prints that riff on classic Native American, African folk and Aztec art in hyper-bright colors, neutrals and animal.
It seems that designers alway indulge in a little bit of exotic when temperatures start to rise and it was no different for designer Michael Kors, who turned out a series of figure flattering and flowy, tribal-print dresses that will look poolside and perfect or sexy at a summer soiree. If all over tribal doesn't work for you, try getting the look with a ethnic-patterned tunic over jeans or black leggings; warm up to the look with wooden rings, metallic bangles or a statement cuff ; or get your feet inspired with a printed wedge, heels strung with beads or lace up flats.
Beauty Tips for this trend: With all this attitude that comes along with these looks, you'll want to opt for super sleek hair and minimal makeup.
