Endless Summer at The Deck
08.30.12
Labor Day means summer season is coming to an end, but you can celebrate an "Endless Summer" Beach Bash at Pacific Edge Hotel and The Deck on Laguna Beach.
You can go for a day of rest and relaxation or spend the day swimming, surfing or stand up paddling. The Deck on Laguna Beach will be offering a special Beach Baja Menu and Margarita Bar (go for the Blueberry Margarita), and listen to a guest DJ spin the hot tracks.
You can step up the beach experience by reserving a Labor Day Cabana Package. For more details on the Cabana Package, call 949.281.5704.
Pacific Edge Hotel is at 647 South Coast Highway in Laguna Beach.

Wear: Bootie Call
08.29.12
In my opinion this Fall is all about the Ankle Boot. Originally intended to be hidden under classic trousers. Ankle boots with skirts or shorts, Unthinkable! But when they got into the hands of designers like Christian Louboutin and Muccia Prada, they was transformed, just like that. I remember in the 80's when designers put booties on the runway with a dress and it's caused quite a frenzy and everyone wondered why have we been hiding these shoes under pants for so long.
Women began wearing them with everything but classic trousers: dresses, drainpipes, and the very intrepid and genetically blesses wore them with shorts. And now, who can think of a world where ankle boots are not meant to come out and play? It seems as though they never had any other purpose than to make us look and feel a little punk when sporting them with skirts and skinny jeans.
Styling tips:
- When wearing pants, keep the colors the same. Black skinny pants tucked into black booties will elongate the leg and make you feel fabulous.
- When wearing a mini skirt, try them with black opaque tights to keep your line going and going. Unless you have amazing legs, illusion is our master craft.
- Make sure the bootie doesn't cut off straight at the ankle like a traditional bootie - those boots are made to be worn underpants and will chop off your leg and make you loo stumpy.
- It is a great alternative to a pump, alway consider it if you're trying not to be too safe.
- The bootie is a classic way to mix the masculine and feminine, so don't be afraid to flaunt a little more femininity when you have a more masculine shoe on. One must mix it to risk it....
