Prepare your taste buds for an unforgettable culinary experience as The Ritz-Carlton Bacara, Santa Barbara presents a remarkable wine pairing dinner in collaboration with Dierberg Vineyard and Star Lane Vineyard on Thursday, May 25th at 6 p.m. This exclusive event, held in honor of the 25th anniversary of the Dierberg Family Estate, promises an evening of delectable flavors and exquisite wines, all set against the stunning backdrop of the Gaviota Coast.
Taking place in the intimate and private Angel Oak Wine Cellar beneath Angel Oak, the renowned fine dining restaurant at The Ritz-Carlton Bacara, guests will relish the enchanting atmosphere as they delve into a carefully curated four-course menu. The cellar's secluded charm offers an ideal setting for this special occasion.
Every aspect of the menu has been thoughtfully designed to harmonize with the exceptional wines selected by the Dierberg family. Collaborating with Chef de Cuisine of Angel Oak, Josh Kellim, the menu showcases the unique tasting notes of Dierberg Vineyard and Star Lane Vineyard wines, including the first vintage of winemaker Tyler Thomas, who is celebrating his tenth anniversary at the estate.
The culinary journey begins with a reception on the outdoor terrace, treating guests to breathtaking panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean. Subsequently, they will be led to the intimate cellar to embark on a gastronomic adventure.
The menu unfolds with enticing courses that skillfully complement the featured wines. Highlights include Morro Bay oysters with rhubarb mignonette finished with nasturtium oil, paired with the 2020 Dierberg Vineyard Chardonnay, Sta. Rita Hills. Guests will also savor The Ritz-Carlton Reserve Caviar atop crispy potato with onion crème fraîche, accompanied by the 2020 Dierberg Vineyard Estate Pinot Noir, Sta. Rita Hills.
The second course presents local halibut served with braised artichoke and delta asparagus, enhanced by Star Lane beurre blanc and saffron oil, alongside the 2019 Dierberg Drum Canyon Vineyard Chardonnay, Sta. Rita Hills. A Colorado Lamb Chop with date-spiced lamb jus, spring vegetables couscous, lemon yogurt, and fresh hummus awaits as the third course, elegantly paired with the 2020 Star Lane Vineyard 'Faron' White Blend, Happy Canyon of Santa Barbara.
The grand finale features Tête De Moine cheese infused with local honey and peppercorn, perfectly accompanied by the 2013 Star Lane Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon, Happy Canyon of Santa Barbara. The delightful culinary journey culminates with a handcrafted dessert prepared by Pastry Chef Christine Rosell.
In celebration of the Dierberg Family Estate's milestone, owner and Montecito resident Ellen Dierberg Milne will grace the event alongside winemaker Tyler Thomas, who will commemorate his tenth harvest. Guests will have the privilege of gaining insights into the history of this esteemed Santa Barbara estate as Thomas shares his own experiences, including his apprenticeship with Aubert de Villaine of Domaine de la Romanée-Conti fame.
