01.03.24
Segerstrom Center for the Arts proudly presents "Hopelessly Devoted: The Music of Olivia Newton-John," a three-night tribute from January 11-13, 2024, at 7:30 pm in the Samueli Theater. This special event features a talented ensemble of Broadway veterans, including Jessica Hendy, Kelli Rabke, David Burnham, Blaine Krauss, and Scott Coulter, accompanied by pianist John Boswell.
They come together to honor the memory of the much-loved singer and actress Olivia Newton-John, who passed away in 2022. The ensemble will perform a selection of Olivia’s greatest hits, celebrating her life and illustrious career.
Olivia Newton-John's 60-year journey in entertainment saw her earn four Grammy® Awards and chart fifteen Top 10 hits, including five #1 songs. Her fame extended to the film industry, notably with her iconic roles as Sandy in "Grease" and Kira in "Xanadu."
Jessica Hendy, known for her powerful vocals, recently graced the Broadway stage in the revival of "CATS" and has the unique achievement of appearing in its original, national tour, and revival productions. She also shone in The New York Spring Spectacular at Radio City Music Hall.
Kelli Rabke's diverse career spans Broadway, where she originated roles in productions by Stephen Schwartz and Andrew Lloyd Webber, to television in “The Young And The Restless.” Her engaging performances have made her a favorite in concerts and the NYC cabaret scene.
David Burnham, remembered for his portrayal of Fiyero in Broadway’s "Wicked," also captivated audiences in South Coast Repertory’s "The Light in the Piazza" after appearing in the same role on Broadway.
Blaine Krauss, lauded for his role in the national tour of "Hamilton," has a rich Broadway history, including playing Simba in "The Lion King" tour and roles in "The Cher Show" and "Natasha, Pierre, and The Great Comet of 1812."
Scott Coulter, celebrated for his resonant voice and magnetic presence, is a five-time MAC Award winner. He returns to the Center after last season’s memorable "The Broadway Hollywood Holiday Soundtrack."
