Wahoo’s Marks 38 Years with Free Community Celebration in Costa Mesa

10.19.25

Wahoo’s will celebrate its 38th anniversary with a free community event on Saturday, Oct. 25, from 2 to 4 p.m. at its original Costa Mesa location, 1862 Placentia Ave. The celebration will feature live music, giveaways, and a chance to meet the brand’s founders, Wing, Ed, and Mingo Lam.

The first 100 guests who bring a pet supply donation for local nonprofit The Good Pawject will receive free tacos, a limited-edition Wahoo’s × Girlfriends T-shirt printed on-site, complimentary CaliWater beverages, and special giveaways from event partners.

Guests can enjoy live music from Girlfriends, Orange County’s breakout band, along with photo opportunities and a festive afternoon celebrating the surf and skate–inspired brand’s deep community roots.

Founded in 1988, Wahoo’s has grown from a small Costa Mesa taco stand into a beloved multistate brand blending Mexican, Brazilian, and Asian flavors inspired by the Lam brothers’ heritage and surf adventures. The company continues to champion fresh food, surf culture, and community connection as part of its mission to “fuel your adventures” and “nourish communities.”

Pumpkin Palooza Returns to Discovery Cube OC This October

10.15.25

Discovery Cube Orange County invites families to the fourth annual Pumpkin Palooza, presented by OC Waste & Recycling, running Saturdays and Sundays through Oct. 26. This family-friendly Halloween celebration fills two floors with interactive exhibits, a high-energy dance party, and hands-on science fun for all ages.

A highlight of this year’s event is the all-new Pumpkin Path, an interactive maze where guests use a special pumpkin device to uncover spooky surprises and lessons on sustainable living. Families will learn how composting, organic choices, and simple daily actions can make a lasting impact on the planet. The adventure ends with a glowing finale and a packet of wildflower seeds to continue the fun at home.

New this year, the Healthy Kitchen invites children to explore the importance of composting pumpkins, reducing food waste, and practicing zero-waste living. Through demonstrations and interactive lessons, guests will see how small actions in the kitchen can protect the environment.

The first floor features a Halloween festival with Boo’s Bumper Cars, Pumpkinology 101, glow-in-the-dark slime making, pumpkin math, and marble run races. Families can also pose at the life-size pumpkin house and enjoy live science demonstrations. Upstairs, the Pumpkin Palooza Dance Party brings back Jack-o-Lynn, the giant 20-foot DJ pumpkin, spinning chart-toppers and Halloween favorites for a lively monster mash.

Pumpkin Palooza runs through Oct. 26 on weekends only. Tickets are available now at discoverycube.org

Open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.

2500 N Main Street in Santa Ana.
