Khan Saab Celebrates Three Years of Success in OC by Giving Back to Community
02.12.23
Orange County’s premier Michelin-rated Halal restaurant, Khan Saab Desi Craft Kitchen in Fullerton, is celebrating its third anniversary the best way it knows how – by giving back to the community it credits for its success.
On Sunday, February 19th, 2023, 10% of Khan Saab’s sales will be donated to the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) – Orange County. NAMI is Orange County’s advocacy center for all things mental health, striving to create a better tomorrow, where all people affected by mental illness can experience hope, recovery, and wellness in a world free of stigma.
Khan Saab, which has prioritized giving back to the community since opening its doors in February 2020, originally partnered with NAMI as the beneficiary for its Grand Opening.
Since then, and despite the challenges of COVID that arose not more than a month post-opening, Khan Saab, and its Executive Chef Ali, launched, the “Drive Up” initiative to serve no-cost meals and dry food to members of the community every Friday for several months during the pandemic.
Additionally, they regularly catered complimentary meals to hospitals, schools, and places of worship during this time and fed over 15,000 people in the area.
Khan Saab also stepped up in a more recent crisis to support families across the world when the Pakistan floods impacted millions in the fall of 2022, devoting 15% of all sales to families affected by the Pakistan Floods, and ultimately raising over $2,500 in just a few weeks.
Thankfully, Chef Ali hasn’t let these hardships disrupt his culinary vision, leading the restaurant to achieve the lauded Michelin Bib Gourmand Award in 2021, and now celebrating three successful years in business.
Open 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. Monday – Friday; 2 p.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
