The Holidays at Puesto: New Seasonal Dishes, Cocktails and Winter Beer
12.13.23
Puesto Mexican Artisan Kitchen & Bar is set to spread festive joy this holiday season with an array of new seasonal offerings, including a unique winter beer, a special gift card promotion, and a celebratory goodbye to 2023.
New Additions to the Winter Menu Delighting patrons with its modern Mexico City-inspired cuisine, Puesto has added a variety of new items to its menu. Highlights include the Turkey Mole Taco, a blend of braised Diestel turkey in mole negro, topped with Mexican crema, onion, and sesame seeds. Seafood lovers can relish the Ceviche Amarillo, a mix of local line-caught fish, bell pepper, habanero, citrus, jicama, carrots, avocado, and cilantro. Also featured is a Chilaquiles dish with Jidori chicken, salsa roja, Mexican crema, queso fresco, parmigiano-reggiano, and cilantro.
Delectable Holiday Desserts The dessert menu has been enhanced with festive treats like Fresas Con Crema, a concoction of meringue, mascarpone, fresh strawberries, and caramelized pistachios, and a Chocolate Chile Tart made from dark chocolate, hibiscus, and spiced ganache.
Craft Cocktails for the Season The craft bar program at Puesto, led by Bar & Spirits Creative Director Beau du Bois, introduces new cocktails. These include the Holiday Shopper, a mix of El Tequileño reposado tequila, Grand Marnier, hibiscus, ginger, cinnamon, and fresh lime, and a unique twist on Puesto’s famous frozen horchata, the Horchata Loca, available with El Tequileño Reposado tequila or Bacardi Ocho rum.
La Cabra: Puesto's Winter Beer La Cabra, the new winterbock beer, is a strong, full-bodied Mexican-style bock with 7.5% ABV. Brewed in Puesto Cervecería, San Diego, it combines German hops' spice with a dark toasted malt flavor, perfect for winter.
Holiday Gift Card Promotion Puesto's holiday promotion offers a bonus with each gift card purchase: buy a $100 gift card and receive a $20 gift card; buy a $250 gift card for a $60 gift card; and for a $500 gift card, get an additional $125 gift card.
A Farewell to 2023 Celebrate New Year's Eve at Puesto with a complimentary Mexican Candy Shot at 9 p.m., coinciding with New York City's ball drop. The shot, a blend of blanco tequila, chamoy, fresh lime, habanero, and watermelon, is a festive way to bid farewell to 2023.
Weekly Specials at Puesto Taco Tuesdays offer half off all tacos from 3 p.m. to close, while the weekday Happy Hour from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. features $10 Puesto Perfect margaritas, $9 wines, half off snacks and shares, and $6 Puesto draft beers. Pen + Napkin, a dedicated non-profit design group, specializes in providing furnishing and decoration services for homes of families and individuals emerging from homelessness. As a volunteer interior designer and board member, Ashley R. Fiocco contributes her expertise to Pen + Napkin.
She's excited to announce a collaboration with Postino Wine Café, located at Park Place in Irvine, for a special fundraising event. From December 20th to December 22nd, 20% of all orders at Postino Wine Café, whether online for pickup/delivery or dine-in, will support Pen + Napkin when the order mentions the organization.
This fundraiser is part of their “Home for the Holidays” campaign, aiming to furnish homes for four families transitioning out of homelessness. Their target is to raise $16,000, allocating $4,000 for each home, to provide essentials like comfy beds, Christmas Trees, and other necessary furniture for the festive season. Donors contributing $50 or more will receive a custom ornament as a token of gratitude.
As a 501c3 approved non-profit, all donations to Pen + Napkin are tax-deductible, and donors will receive a receipt for tax purposes. For further details, visit penandnapkin.org or contact via email at info@penandnapkin.org.
