Spring Soirees at Casa Romantica: Celebrate Resilience and Cultural Splendor!
04.09.24
Spring has arrived at Casa Romantica Cultural Center and Gardens in San Clemente, heralding a season filled with vibrant events, programs, and series scheduled for April and May. As we reflect on a year since the devastating landslide of April 27th, Casa Romantica invites the public to join in celebrating the resilience and progress achieved with live music, arts activities, gardening experiences, and more!
Throughout April and May, Casa Romantica will host a variety of engaging experiences and special events suitable for all ages. On April 27th from 4-6 p.m., the community is welcomed to commemorate this significant milestone in Casa Romantica's journey. Following a challenging year marked by the landslide, Casa invites everyone to rejoice in the strides made. Come together for an afternoon filled with live music, interactive arts activities, garden explorations, and more. This event is open to the public and free with RSVP.
Casa Romantica continues to offer weekly classes and events for the community. Join us every Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. for FREE Weekly Storytime, where toddlers can explore Casa's gardens, sing, dance, and enjoy a book reading led by a Casa volunteer. Additionally, every Monday at 9:15 a.m., experience a beginner-friendly Weekly Ballet Class, and on Wednesdays at 9:15 a.m., join us for a weekly yoga class in partnership with YNG Studios. Explore meditation techniques in the Weekly Meditation Class led by instructor Jim Noggle every Tuesday at 9:15 a.m.
Experience a mesmerizing evening under the stars with lively Argentinian tango dancers Miriam Larici and Leonardo Barrionuevo accompanied by live music for Tango Romantica on April 26th - a returning favorite after two sold-out shows! Dive into the art exhibition "South American Colors" by mixed-media artist Carlos Grasso, displayed at Casa's Art Gallery from April 18 through June 9. Complementing Casa's themed-connection, Argentinian Arts, the exhibition showcases canvas deconstruction and otherworldly tapestries. Gallery access is included in admission.
Celebrate Mother’s Day Weekend on May 11th with a tea event for a cause at Casa Romantica's annual Mary Colby Tea, blending English High Tea with fundraising. Named after the late philanthropist Mary Colby, the event supports Casa Romantica's cultural arts programs and features a champagne reception, traditional English tea, and delightful raffle prizes in our Courtyard.
On May 23rd, enjoy a performance by Dayramir González, a Cuban pianist acclaimed by Carnegie Hall for "setting the Latin jazz world on fire in America." This event includes a pre-show reception with appetizers and libations. Wrap up the month on May 28th with artist Kelly Gallaher leading a Greek Antiquity-themed sip and paint class suitable for artists of any skill level. A glass of wine and materials are included in this class.
