Weatherman and Comedian Fritz Coleman Brings the Laughter Back to Mission Viejo!
08.14.24
On Saturday, August 24, "Lass Your Aff Off!" returns to The Z Playhouse in Mission Viejo, featuring Orange County favorite Fritz Coleman! Known for bringing weather and laughter to KNBC for over 35 years, Fritz is set to share his unique comedy style in Mission Viejo—a show not to be missed! Whether you're in it for the laughs or a weather update, Fritz has you covered.
Fritz Coleman, originally from Radnor, Pennsylvania, studied radio, television, and film at Salem University in West Virginia and Temple University in Philadelphia. He spent years as a comedian and disc jockey, eventually becoming a radio personality in Buffalo, New York. In 1980, he moved to Los Angeles to pursue stand-up comedy, and by 1982, he was KNBC's weekend weatherman, later becoming the weekday weatherman in 1984.
Beyond his weather career, Fritz has written and performed two one-man shows, The Reception and It’s Me! Dad! He received the 2004 EMA Community Service Award for his work with KNBC’s "4 Our Planet," a children's program. In addition to his stand-up comedy, he also appeared in one of Raymond Burr’s last Perry Mason films, The Case of the Telltale Talk Show Host, in 1993.
The 7:30 p.m. show is sold out, but tickets for the 5 p.m. show are still available. Get your tickets here: comedyintheoc.com
The Z Playhouse is located at 24196 Alicia Parkway, Suite M, Mission Viejo, CA.

Red Cross Offers $20 Amazon.com Gift Card for Donors in August
08.12.24
The American Red Cross is experiencing an emergency blood shortage as the nation faces dangerous levels of heat and people head out for final summer travel plans. Since July 1, the Red Cross national blood supply has fallen by more than 25%, and blood donors of all types, especially those with type O blood, are urged to give as soon as possible to help patients receive lifesaving medical care. In Orange County, there are many upcoming blood donation opportunities through August.
To find a blood drive near you, visit RedCrossBlood.org/Help.
The Red Cross is working with hospitals around the clock to meet the blood needs of patients – but can’t do it alone. To make an appointment, download the Red Cross Blood Donor App, visit RedCrossBlood.org or call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767).
As a thank-you, those who come in to give blood, platelets, or plasma through Aug. 31, 2024, will get a $20 Amazon.com Gift Card by email. For details, visit RedCrossBlood.org/Help.
