Butcher’s House Celebrates 2nd Anniversary with Culinary Innovation and Retail Expansion
12.20.23
Butcher's House, the celebrated brasserie led by Chef-Owner Jeoffrey Offer, is marking its second anniversary this December. Since its grand opening in 2021, it has garnered acclaim as the '2021 Restaurant of the Year' by Orange Coast Magazine and secured a coveted spot among Orange County Register's '75 Best Restaurants.' As it steps into its third year of operation, the restaurant remains committed to serving its renowned cuisine du terroir while embarking on innovative endeavors like pop-ups and retail-oriented offerings.
At the heart of Butcher's House is its dedication to wood-fired steaks, expertly dry-aged and butchered in-house. Chef Offer skillfully blends classic and contemporary culinary elements, harmonizing time-honored techniques with influences drawn from modern French avant-garde dining culture. A recent addition to his repertoire, the Mr. J's Burger pop-up concept, represents a deliberate departure from his celebrated cuisine du terroir, instead focusing on America's beloved classic – the burger. Available on Wednesdays and Thursdays, Mr. J's Burger delights guests with a selection of street-style burgers made from in-house ground meat and crafted with simple, high-quality ingredients.
As Butcher's House ventures into its third year, Chef Offer continues to innovate by exploring retail-oriented products inspired by the restaurant's iconic offerings. Starting this month, patrons can take home the restaurant's signature Toulouse Sausage, available by the pound. This ready-to-grill delicacy is a homage to Offer's hometown in the south of France. Looking ahead to 2024, Offer plans to expand the range of retail products at Butcher's House to encompass ready-to-grill burgers, signature sauces, and even a curated selection of gourmet imports from France.
Chef Offer reflects on this evolution, stating, "The restaurant industry is continuously shifting, and to grow, it is essential to evolve with it. Exploring different service models and retail offerings allows us to meet our guests where they're at, whether that's with a dry-aged steak and glass of wine at dinner, a quick-service burger at lunch, or a grab-and-go item to prepare at home."
Located in SoCo, Costa Mesa (3321 Hyland Ave. Ste. D), Butcher's House warmly welcomes guests for dinner every night from 5 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. and offers weekend brunch from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Mr. J's Burger is open exclusively on Wednesday and Thursday, between noon and 2 p.m.
