By Mimi Ngo
At Gyu-Kaku Japanese BBQ, you are encouraged to “Grill, sip, love, and be your own chef" If you’re looking for a casual and social dining environment, this is it. You will experience community dining where most plates are intended to be shared. A plate of meat can easily be distributed between two people making Gyu-Kaku great for date night or family night.
Popular BBQ items are 21-day aged Angus beef, garlic shrimp, chicken, duck, fish, pork, lamb, and a range of vegetables. Most of the BBQ is seasoned with a miso marinade or a tare soy marinade which can both offer a taste that is sweet and savory. Gyu-Kaku also has a variety of appetizers from wontons, dumplings, sushi, and chicken wings. The drink menu offers a variety of wine, Japanese beer, sake, Shochu and other domestic and import beers.
At each table, there are built-in smokeless grills that allow you to grill fresh raw items. At these tables you will also find soy sauce, ponzu sauce and the signature Gyu-Kaku Spicy Sauce. The helpful servers also offer cooking instructions if needed and can also help with food selections.
To get the best price on your meal, come during Happy Hour which varies by location. Food items as well as beverages are marked down.
