1. If you had to begin a different career, what would you do?

If I had a different career, I would definitely be a painter. I paint so much in my free time and I love creating beautiful designs and pieces of art as my creative outlet.  I absolutely love my career, but if I had to do something different, I would paint all the time.

2. What’s your most prized possession?

My daughter, Claudia.  She is my pride and joy.

3. Favorite drink?

My favorite drink is Opus One wine.  It is absolutely exquisite!  It is a bit indulgent, but every woman has one or two things that they absolutely have to splurge on, and that is one of mine.

4. What are you cutting out because of the economy?

Well, the economy is difficult for everyone and we all are experiencing the need to cut back a little.  I have found it prudent to cut back on eating out as much to help conserve.  I love to cook with my mother, so this gives me the extra motivation to take time out of my day and prepare a meal with her.

5. Fantasy purchase?

A jet!  It will never happen, but it would be so great to not have to go through security lines at the airport!

6. What can’t you live without?

Chocolate! Chocolate! Chocolate!  I must have chocolate, and of course I couldn’t live without having perfect eyebrows.

7. What’s next on your “to do” list?

More innovation in brow & eyes. I want to have more fun with product but continue to innovate.

8. Biggest regret?

I don’t believe in living with regrets.

9. Cause that you’re most interested/involved in?

The Brighter Horizon Foundation.  I started this foundation to help put young men and women through beauty school so they can move forward and support themselves with a career that they love. I feel that giving back is the cornerstone of success, and I am happy that I can help others in a way that has touched my life so closely.

10. Your dream day in Orange County?

A day on the beach in Laguna!  There is nothing prettier than the Laguna coastline and I love being able to spend a day shopping with friends and then relaxing on the sand.

11. Favorite place for breakfast?

La Conversation! It’s a French bakery in West Hollywood and it is absolutely fabulous.

12. What was the best day of your life?

The best day of my life was the day that my daughter, Claudia, was born.  A close second is the first time that I appeared on the Oprah Winfrey show.

13. Last concert that you went to?

I went to La Scala in Italy in September to the opera. That’s not really a concert, but being there was out of this world.

14. Favorite vacation spot?

The Esperanza Resort in Cabo.  It is absolutely gorgeous and it is one of my favorite places in the world to go and relax in the sunshine.

15. If you had to live somewhere else, where would you like to move?

Italy, for sure.  Everything from the landscape to the architecture to the food excites me. There is something magical when you are walking around almost any part of Italy.  Plus, I also love gelato!

16. Favorite books?

Believe it or not my favorite book is Anna Karenina.  I love the story and the style in which Tolstoy writes. Everything from the details to the political undertones of the book thrill me.  It truly is a masterpiece.

17. Favorite restaurants in Orange County?

Club 33.  Some people may not know about it, but it is the private club that Walt Disney built inside Disneyland to entertain celebrities, politicians, and even royalty.  It is so beautiful, and a piece of California history.  I love it.

18. Biggest accomplishment?

My biggest accomplishment is being an immigrant, coming to America, and making a success of my business and myself.  It was difficult, and I have had many challenges along the way but I firmly believe if you love what you are doing you can make your dream come true with hard work.

19. What’s your biggest fear?

Waking up without any eyebrows!  No, really.  I have had nightmares about it before.

20. Secret most people don’t know about you?

I was a gymnast until I was 18, and looked like a little boy.  Seriously!  I weighed 90 pounds soaking wet and I had a short, bob hairstyle. I was very athletic, but I was not feminine-looking at all!
