Ada’s FATHER OF THE YEAR AWARDS
06.07.16
The Orange County American Diabetes Association (ADA) and the Father’s Day Council of Orange County will honor the recipients of the 2016 Father of the Year Awards on Thursday, June 16 at 6 p.m. at the Island Hotel in Newport Beach.
This year’s honorees are Scott Burnham, CEO & Chairman of the Board at Burnham USA Equities, Inc.; Craig Carter, President of Luxe Travel Management; and Dr. Robert Kachenmeister, CEO of Plastic Surgery Associates of Orange County.
The honorees have demonstrated the ability to balance their personal and professional lives, serving as an exceptional role model for their children while making a positive difference in the community.
All proceeds of the dinner will support the American Diabetes Association and its mission to prevent and cure diabetes and to improve the lives of all people affected by diabetes.
“These men have demonstrated the ability to not only succeed in their careers, but serve as great role models in their community and to their family,” said Tom Traylor, Chairman of the Orange County Father’s Day Council. “They are joining a fraternity of incredible leaders, not only in our community, but nationwide. They deserve recognition not only as exemplary fathers and community leaders, but for the significant funds they will help raise to support the fight to stop diabetes.”
Diabetes is a serious, life-threatening and currently incurable disease that can include complications such as heart disease, stroke, blindness, kidney disease, amputations and loss of life if left untreated. It is the seventh leading disease-based cause of death. Nearly 29.1 million Americans have diabetes and millions more have pre-diabetes. More than one-third of those with diabetes are undiagnosed. In Orange County, approximately 250,000 people live with diabetes.
Individual tickets are still available for $300 each at diabetes.org/orangecountyfoty. Tax-deductible corporate sponsorships range from $1,000 to $25,000.
They will also have a silent and live auction for the first time in the event’s history.
Here is a quick peak at just some of the auction items up for bid. All proceeds will benefit the American Diabetes Association and make a difference in the lives of those living with diabetes!
