SEES FOR SPRING!
03.18.12
Review by Sheryll Alexander
Today is the first day of spring, so it’s time to think about a trip to See’s Candies for some delectable seasonal chocolates. We recently tested some of See’s newest creations and we were quite pleased with these tasty treats.
First, we tried the new Orange Cream Lollypops ($5.35 for an eight-count box). How good are these creamy orange pops? “They taste like a rainbow hit your taste buds,” so says my young daughter.
We also fell in love with the limited edition Easter assortment in a brightly-colored wooden box ($12.65 for 11 oz.), which includes a Scotchmallow egg, marshmallow eggs, milk chocolate bunnies, jelly beans, milk chocolate foil eggs and decorated eggs in chocolate butter, vanilla chip and orange flavors.
However, we were most impressed with the new Bordeaux egg. Bordeaux is our favorite See’s candy flavor, so this giant Bordeaux egg ($5.60) was a welcome treat. Can you imagine a 5.4 oz. mound of mouthwatering brown sugar butter cream covered in milk chocolate and topped with chocolate sprinkles? Spring never tasted so good!

Wear to Where: Hot Tip
03.16.12
For me, getting an iron out to smooth my hem or reach the spaces in between buttons on a shirt, just isn't going to happen. But, I'd like to share with you a tip of the trade. Use a flat Iron for those little areas. So perfect, right? These little lovelies that make our hair so sleek and shiny can also make our clothes look neat and polished. So go out today and buy an extra one, and keep it close for whenever you need a last minute clothing fix.
Just make sure the plates are clean — product residue will leave nasty stains on your shirts — or give the iron a quick wipe-down with a damp towel for extra insurance (and a little steam action). It's best to use models with adjustable temperature settings that you can use on everything from silk (very, very low setting) to sweaters (high setting).
