Taste of Westminster

With one ticket to the 5th Annual Taste of Westminster on Saturday, Aug. 23 from noon to 4 p.m., you can sample tasty foods from some of the top restaurants in the area.

A few of the participating eateries include barbecue treats in cocoa-tinged sauce from Chocolate Bar-B-Que; mexican snacks from Taco Surf, fresh crepes from Crepe Corner; and banh mi from Lee’s Sandwiches. For an additional charge your can sample brews from Blue Moon, Sierra Nevada, New Belgium, and Coors Light as well as wines.

The event will raise funds for the Kiwanis Club’s efforts to build a field for the Challenger Little League. A branch of Little League of America, the Challenger League allows children with developmental disabilities the opportunity to enjoy playing baseball.

Ticket prices will be $25 per adult and $10 for kids 12 and under.

The event will take place at the Westminster Sunken Gardens next to City Hall.

From The Dressing Room with Once The Musical

For Episode 4 of “From the Dressing Room” Greer’s Girl Kelley Moody asked “Once stars, Donna Garner (Baruška) and Raymond Bokhour (Da) questions at Segerstrom Center for The Arts in Costa Mesa. All question were submitted via social media from fans.

“Once,” winner of eight Tony Awards including Best Musical and winner of the 2013 Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album will be playing at Segerstrom Center for the Arts in Costa Mesa for a limited engagement through August 31.

At all performances, theatregoers can write and share their personal anecdotes about how they met their friends and significant others through the prompt, “How did you meet?” on “Once” coasters displayed on the Orchestra Level lobby. Folk-style musician Scott Brazee of S.S. Odyssey will perform original songs near the Segerstrom Hall Box Office.
