CHOC Follies XIX, “Carly and the CHOCO Factory”
03.28.16
The 19th annual production of CHOC Follies, “Carly and the CHOCO Factory, An Orange County Musical of Sweethearts, Swindlers and Swashbucklers” is running from Thursday, March 31 to Saturday, April 2 at the Robert B. Moore Theatre at Orange Coast College in Costa Mesa.
In this loving spoof of the classic "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory,” Carly, a sweet, single Orange County girl, dreams of visiting the magical factory where Choco, the beloved CHOC mascot, resides. Millie Zonka, who secretly guards the magic that transforms the dreams, runs the factory, and faces complications brought on by a band of crazy pirates blown in on the winds of El Niño!
CHOC Follies has netted nearly $8 million for CHOC over the past 18 years, thanks to cast members and production team led by founder and executive producer Gloria Zigner Goldberg, associate producer Lois Augustine, director John Vaughan, music director Douglas Austin and choreographer Lee Martino.
This year’s proceeds will support the hospital’s music therapy program.
Performances will be on Thursday, March 31 at 8 p.m., Friday, April 1 at 8 p.m., and on Saturday, April 2, 2016, at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m.
Tickets for performances on Thursday night and Saturday’s matinee are $75 and $45. For Friday and Saturday nights, tickets are $125 (includes after-show cast party), $75 and $50. All seats are reserved, and group sales tickets are available. For more information, visit chocfollies.org.
