10.30.13

Ways & Means made its debut last week in the former A-frame Coco’s Bakery on E. Chapman Avenue, now it's dramatically transformed into an East Coast-style seafood shack with a West Coast relaxed atmosphere.
Delcham and Gallagher are on a mission to offer an exciting gourmet experience for all, from shares plates, entrees and sides, to a cocktail with an oyster sampling at the bar. Gallagher’s inventive, evolving menu will showcase global cuisines and seasonal Southern California ingredients. Even in the ealry morning hours, Gallagher’s a regular fixture at local docks selecting fresh, sustainably caught seafood for the day.

The dinner menu offers shared plates like Caesar salad with baby cos, crab meat, Scotch egg, and sourdough; and Kataifi-style crab cakes with cilantro, Meyer lemon, and celeriac remoulade. Gallagher’s signature main dishes include seared ahi tuna with wasabi sesame crust, served with wok-fried shiitake mushrooms, beansprouts, bok choy, enoki, and tofu wontons; and wild salmon with red pepper couscous, ratatouille, saffron aioli, and zucchini flowers; as well as grilled premium 40 day aged steaks, fish, and lobster, served with a choice of sauces.
