Legends of Hollywood Childhelp Diamond Jubilee Gala!

The Orange County Chapter of Childhelp will celebrate its Legends of Hollywood Childhelp Diamond Jubilee Gala on Saturday, October 19, at The Resort at Pelican Hill. Event Chairs Joy Estrada and Gina Van Ocker along with Honorary Chair, Janet Ronnenberg will lead the committee in transforming the main ballroom to bring legendary Hollywood back to life. It will be an evening to remember with dinner, dancing to live music by Daring Greatly, silent and live auctions, and casino-style gambling, all to raise money toward stopping child abuse and neglect, and to support the children under Childhelp’s care.
For 60 years, Childhelp has been working to stop abuse and neglect in Orange County as well as across the country. They are proud to report that for each dollar expended, over 92 cents are invested into serving the children in need of their program and services.

Sunday Jazz Brunch at Oak Grill

Oak Grill at Fashion Island Hotel knows how to put out its Sunday best, and Chef Brittany Valles certainly knows how to wow diners – dates, friends, family – with jazzy brunch dishes they’ll love. On Sunday, Sept. 1 live jazz music begins. Brunch runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
On the new menu, are House-Made Monkey Bread (while supplies last); Breakfast Flatbread with bacon, over easy egg and marinara sauce; and other shareables. Interesting Starters include Grilled Pound Cake, House-Made Smoked Salmon and Sweet or Savory Crêpe. From the Main entrées, guests can select one Starter and one Main for $29.95.
For example, the Main choice could be Chicken & Waffle Benedict or Farmers Market Roasted Vegetable Power Bowl. Then, there’s a Main II category that offers one Starter and one Main II entrée for $36.95, and the choices include Shrimp & Cheesy Grits, Cedar Plank Salmon Caesar Salad and other temptations. Bottomless mimosas are $10, and Bloody Marys are $15.
