GRAMMY AWARD-NOMINATED BAND RANKY TANKY AT SOKA PERFORMING ARTS CENTER

Grammy Award-nominated Ranky Tanky, a Charleston, SC-based quintet, performs timeless music born from the Gullah culture of the southeastern Sea Islands. They’ll be at Soka Performing Arts Center will be performing on Saturday, Jan. 25 at 8 p.m.
Their debut album was featured on NPR’s Fresh Air with Terry Gross and the TODAY show. It also soared to the #1 position on the Billboard, Amazon, and iTunes Jazz Charts. Their latest release, Good Time, also offers the group’s first original songs inspired by Gullah tradition of playful game songs, joyful shouts, wrenching spirituals and soft lullabies mixed with Lowcountry and large doses of jazz, gospel, funk, and R&B.

Come join a dance party with Secret Agent 23 Skidoo on Sunday, January 26 at 3 p.m. at Soka Performing Arts Center. When the funky beat and the bass groove drop, even the shyest kids get in on the action.
The mission of the Grammy Award-winning, internationally-touring, purple velvet tuxedo-wearing, family funk phenomenon is to celebrate individuality and imagination. Combining the positive, primal power of hip hop with the surreal storytelling of science fiction, 23 Skidoo has concocted a potent potion that wows family crowds across the planet.
