Goodwill will begin its phased reopening with eight stores, for both shopping and donating, and one remote donation site on Friday, May 29 at 10 a.m.
The community’s well-being and employees, customers, and donors, remains the Goodwill’s top priority. Their stores have implemented several new steps to ensure a safe and comfortable shopping experience.
They’ve implemented several new safety and cleaning protocols, including:
• Conducting health screenings for their employees
• Requiring face coverings for all Goodwill team members and customers
• Increasing the frequency of cleaning and sanitization
• Limiting the number of shoppers in-store to maintain proper social distancing
• Using one-way aisle traffic and floor signage to help maintain proper social distancing
• Installing Plexiglass sneeze guards at all cashier stations
• Utilizing a contactless donation drop off system
• Holding donations for a minimum of a 24-hour period
Hand sanitizers and cleaning supplies for shopping carts will also be available for all customers.
All reopened stores and donation sites will be open Monday – Sunday, 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.

Orange County restaurants are beginning to reopen with new safety measures and social distancing protocol in place. Here are details about a handful of OC restaurants that are currently open—each concept is thrilled to welcome guests back! Curbside pickup and takeout will continue to be available at each location.
El Torito in Orange, Irvine, Yorba Linda, Anaheim, Cypress, Tustin, Westminster, Dana Point – El Torito’s award-winning, all-you-can-eat Sunday brunch is back starting this Sunday, May 31, complete with bottomless mimosas. The buffet will be safely modified, including hot stations manned by El Torito staff and covered with protective shells. get your Mex fix with made-to-order omelets, hand-made tortillas, a decked-out taco and burrito bar, housemade soups, build-your-own salad station, fresh seafood, waffles, and other breakfast items, Chef's signature dishes, authentic Mexican pastries, and desserts. $26.99 per Adult, $9.99 per child. Additionally, the restaurant will reopen with their most beloved specials, Taco Tuesday from 3-10 p.m. and happy hour every day from 3 p.m. to close.
Las Brisas in Laguna Beach – The Southern California landmark restaurant is now open. Perched above the scenic Laguna Beach coastline, Las Brisas is a premier dining destination and breezy retreat overlooking the Pacific. The restaurant features an abundance of space, including a bar lounge area, several dining room areas, and a scaping patio, all with ocean views. In addition, the restaurant is also offering takeout options, which can be enjoyed from a biergarten-esque lounge area in the parking lot (which also has views of the ocean). The full menus are available, with weekend brunch served Saturday and Sunday from 8-3 p.m.
Sol Cocina in Newport Beach – Sol Cocina is thrilled to welcome guests back into it’s dining room, patio, and lounge. The full menu will be available, including award-winning tacos and margaritas. Enjoy Breakfast Burritos, Margarita Pitchers, and $3 Mimosas during weekend brunch on Saturday and Sunday.
Solita in Huntington Beach – You’ve missed tacos, margaritas & more, and Solita has missed you! Solita is fully open and offering the full menu, and has taken the necessary steps to make your dining experience stress free. Enjoy a well-deserved meal out during weekday Happy Hour (Mon, Wed-Friday 3-6 p.m.) and the famous Taco & Tequila Tuesday (Tuesday from 3 to close) featuring live music from local artists and street taco and margarita specials. Enjoy sparkling mimosas and Mexican Specialties at Weekend Brunch on Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m to -3p.m.
Urban Plates in Aliso Viejo, Brea, Irvine, Tustin – Urban Plates has locations across SoCal and could be a great source to speak to navigating changing regulations city to city—for the consumer or business owner. In continued support of local heroes, Urban Plates is expanding its Nourishing Heroes program through June (this gives customers the opportunity to donate a $12 meal for a frontline worker, which Urban Plates will match for a total of 2 meals; now expanding and providing meals to local fire, police, and first responders as a show of support for all those keeping us safe during this crisis). Urban Plates is committed to making the dine-in process seamless and safe for guests; an example: folks can expect continued use of to-go packaging with safety seals (even when dining in) to provide added security and a revamped ordering process for maximum distancing. Each location has outdoor patio seating for guests who may feel more comfortable dining outdoors.
