September is Comic Book Month at Chuck Jones Center for Creativity
09.01.20
Each month Chuck Jones Center for Creativity will feature a main objective which involves three weeks of complimentary creativity classes followed by one paid creativity camp where they work on a group project while taking a deeper dive into the theme of the month.
Each student will then receive the final produced collective project. You do not have take part in the free classes to participate in the Comic Book Camp nor are you obligated to participate in the fee-based camp when you take the free classes.
September is Comic Book Month and each class will feature aspects of students’ creating their very own comic book. Their Comic Book Camp at the end of the month will be a group project taking what they’ve learned in the previous three weeks to create one comic book collaboration. Each student taking the comic book camp will receive the printed version of the final project.
Check out this month's online free class line up!

September 21 - 25
They’ll be offering a virtual Comic Book Camp! The last week of September will be an exploration of character development and storytelling taught with Chuck’s own techniques. Their teaching artists, Naylene, Lee, and Ben will guide students through the process of creating their very own collaborative comic book.
Activities include creating and writing our story; sketching out the action in panels, adding ink & color; polishing the final art and dialogue plus producing the final product.
Each aspiring comic book artist will receive a copy of the final comic book produced for this camp. This camp is sure to have something for every young comic book creator!
This week-long Chuck Jones Center for Creativity virtual camp takes place on Zoom, September 21 through September 25, from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Camp is $75 a person, for students ages 8 to 15. Students do not have to participate in the free classes to participate in the camp.
