Pipeline to a Cure Goes Virtual

07.17.20

Even though the big Pipeline to a Cure event to benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation has been canceled this year, they’re having a fun 30-minute reminder of what we're all missing out on. Join them on Saturday, July 18 at 5 p.m. for a Pipeline to a Cure party, which will be held on Facebook Live.

This reimagined Pipeline party will include special messages from a few of our supporters, including legendary surfer Dave Kalama, baseball legend Tim Salmon, Olympic swimmers Jason Lezak and Rowdy Gaines, and special performances from Flashback Heart Attack and The Kalama Brothers. Although we are adapting to the current climate, our focus remains clear: celebrate the unique connection between the ocean and cystic fibrosis while raising critical funds to support cystic fibrosis research and care.

They to commemorate what has become the most popular and anticipated philanthropic event in Orange County. Details to join the event can be found on the Pipeline to a Cure website, here, and will be emailed to you next week. For more information, contact Shaina Flesser at Sflesser@cff.org.

They can’t wait to connect with you on July 18! If you would like to make a donation in support of Pipeline to a Cure, please visit pipelinetoacure.org.
For everyone who donates to this mini-event, there will be a special prize waiting for you at the 2021 event check-in!

Two Couple Win Dream Weddings

07.16.20

Known for its yacht and bay backdrop weddings, Newport Beach’s Balboa Bay Resort has gifted two couples their dream weddings after their original plans were uprooted by the pandemic.  To select the couples, the resort hosted a giveaway contest through Instagram and is now planning each ceremony.

Scheduled for July 23, Kelli and Anthony Patino will welcome up to 50 guests, including their daughter and twin boys, at the premier waterfront resort’s brand-new outdoor Wedding Lawn. The Chino Hills (California) couple met at a friend’s barbeque five years ago and organized a 140-person Las Vegas wedding in March but were forced to abandon their plans. After a year of anticipating their big day, they had lost it overnight along with a lot of money.

In addition to providing the wedding venue, accommodations, and catering, which amount to $10,000, Balboa Bay Resort partnered with local vendors to help execute their ideal ceremony, including:

The cocktail reception with passed hors d'oeuvres, hand-selected by the couple.

Wedding planning services, floral, and decor from Rebecca Calagna Events.

Full hair and make-up from Heather Kennedy at Dolled Up OC.

Photography from Jim Kennedy Photography.
