8th Annual Priceless Luncheon
08.31.21
Vanguard University’s (VU’s) Global Center for Women and Justice (GCWJ) will host its annual Priceless Luncheon to continue developing resources and education for advocates to study the issues, be a voice and make a difference in the fight to end human trafficking.
The event will be held on September 18 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. for the first time on campus at the university’s Waugh Student Center, a new, state-of-the-art building that opened in February 2020.
As the first time, this annual event will be held on VU’s campus, it will also be the first in-person event held in the new Waugh Student Center since COVID-19 restrictions on public gatherings shuttered VU last year. Dr. Sandra Morgan, director of GCWJ, will deliver an impact report and comment on the center’s continued and diligent work during the COVID-19 pandemic and its continued commitment to ending human trafficking. The luncheon, which will include a performance by the Voices of Hope children’s choir and silent and live auctions, aims to build awareness among the Orange County community and raise funds to continue GCWJ’s fight to bring dignity, justice, and freedom to the most vulnerable populations in our own community and around the world.
Outstanding organizations, individuals, and young leaders are honored each year at Priceless for their distinguished efforts to combat human trafficking. The Diamond Award honors their exceptional work to promote the inherent dignity of all persons and raise awareness and education on human trafficking.
Priceless will be co-chaired by Fernanda Brady and Alissa Sagud and will feature Dr. Morgan, director of GCWJ and a professor at VU.
The GCWJ’s 8th annual Priceless luncheon will also feature keynote speaker Nicole Suydam, President and CEO of Goodwill of Orange County, the county’s largest nonprofit, as well as Vanguard alumna and member of its Board of TrusteesThe luncheon allows GCWJ to effectively execute its mission to fight human trafficking here in Orange County and around the world. The Orange County Human Trafficking Task Force reported in its annual 2021 report that in 2019 and 2020, the task force provided services for 357 victims of human trafficking, with 101 of those who received services being minors.
For 18 years, GCWJ has provided training and resources to promote education and awareness in our Orange County community, to students and parents, and to leaders around the world.
Tickets for the luncheon start at $225 and sponsorships are now available. To attend the annual Priceless Luncheon to end human trafficking on September 18, at 11 a.m., please visit gcwj.org/priceless.
